Haven't you had enough?
Edited on Fri May-09-08 01:45 AM by question everything
No, of course I am not voting for McCain and I'd be better off staying away from GD-P, but look at all the threads still trashing Hillary. Haven't you had enough? Can't you celebrate in your "presumed" nominee?

Will you not be happy until Hillary (and Bill) are completely annihilated?

Just look at the title of all the threads on this forum in the first page. Don't even open them - I did not, except one - just look at them. And then come and talk about "unity."

You don't want any unification or reconciliation. You don't even want Obama to win. No, you want to keep stomping on that "vile" woman. I suspect that even if she quits right now and then offers her support for Obama you will not be satisfied. For all I know, you thrive on such hatred.

So go ahead. Continue to post these hateful posts about Hillary (and perhaps her supporters) and watch how many will stay home and McCain sails to the White House.

Why is it that emotions are OK with an unknown candidate who is charismatic and eloquent who says nothing specific, but not when another candidate is hated?

And since when has the Bill Presidency been so discredited? Have you forgotten Ruth Ginsburg and Steven Byers? I don't know where most of you, the biggest haters of Bill, been in the 90s. Grade School, perhaps. But for us, the adults with long memories, these were days of economic expansion across all income level. A fact that still grates on the nerves of Ted K. and other Democratic "leaders" who could only dream about what Bill has accomplished.

Before you "sign" a petition to move to the next level, make sure you purge all the hateful messages here. Yes, I know that this is only DU. But if supposedly well informed and involved people like DUers can continue with their hatred, like Olbermann, Alter, Caferty, then, no doubt, such sentiments exist among all Democrats. And many, especially women, will take this personally. So you can trash Hillary and her supporters, and pray that all the Independents and the Republicans who voted for Obama, will be there for him in November.

Here is a sample:

1. Talk to me when the DUer who said the granite slab should be dropped on him has it dropped on him.
If you've read the OP you'll know what I'm talking about. It's still top-of-the-page on GD-P.

You can cherrypick a few OPs that are critical of Hillary Clinton if you want, but none compare to openly advocating for John McCain.

9. "Cherry pick a few OPs critical of Hillary Clinton"
That is the biggest fucking lie I have seen here in months. Most of the posts in GD P are downright hateful toward her. It has been that way for a long, long time.

12. Whereas the Clinton supporters have been full of love and kindness to Obama and supporters.
But maybe that's just all the "koolaid" they give me in my "cult" talking. :eyes:

2. " I Know!!! We cannot win, so let's just BLAME OBAMA!!!"
If not that, let's blame his supporters.

Bill and Hillary shit on the entire party, but low information voters won't recognize that, no matter what.

3. The GE is just getting started. Can we both look forward to a win?
I hope so. The issues are too important for personal vendettas or whatever else may have been stirred up. I have young daughters myself, so there was never any question where my vote would go.

13. Sure we do. But before that there is a need for some grieving
I don't know, all these four or five stages of the dying.

We are not even in the denial part and the Obama supporters continue to crap on our heads is not going to help.

My beef has always been with the Obama supporters, not with the man himself, who has conducted himself with civility and dignity. Is it too much to ask his followers to watch and learn?

19. Frankly, you should have been through the first 3 stages weeks ago.... when it became clear that...
she was going to lose.

The fact that it didn't "hit you" until Tuesday night shows how delusional you were.

This race was over the night he won Wisconsin....

24. Thank you for making my point
You are not interested in reconciliation, you are not interested in unity, you are not even interested in our votes. You just want to keep pounding.

That you say the race was over after Wisconsin - this is your opinion, enjoy it while we spend four more years of Republican rules, with more "Thomases and Scalias" on the Supreme Court. Enjoy contributing to Bush's "legacy" because you have to continue pounding on Hillary supporters.

4. Hillary has trashed herself. Many here tried to get her to avoid it, but she insisted
Now, it's DU's fault? I think not. She has turned her personal tragedy into a coast to coast melodrama and IS acting a bit like the psycho girlfriend in too many movies. She did that all by herself despite pleas to bow out with some dignity and grace.

She sowed the seeds of most of the contempt. She reaps what she has sown.

6. If you read my post, which you note
you'll also note that I said I had not kept up with this latest audio recording of hers. I was shocked. Am I not allowed to express my shock? She is still in the campaign, according to what she says.

as I also said in my post - I want to make peace with people here, but after hearing what she said... I'm just astonished. I'm sorry that this bothers you, but as far as I know, she's still out there campaigning. that's what she said. that's what people here say - I didn't know my post was so out of bounds. As I said, I thought I witnessed the end of her campaign with that moment. maybe it's just me, but somehow I don't think so.

7. You never question the Bush administration or their crimes
in any of your posts that revealed any truth.

Name me one stories or post you revealed that got you to the top of the greatest page on DU?

Just one, you know what one is don't you?

14. What's that got to do with anything?
This is the DU Primaries forum. What is there to post about Bush? That he is the most incompetent person ever to occupy the White House?

That he was selected by the powers that be in the Republican party to provide the "genial" front while say and do what is told?

And the Greatest Post? Is this a criteria? Yes, I got some, so what? Last week someone who "predicted" that Obama was going to win PA by 10 points was in the Greatest Page. Which is one more "proof" that the Greatest page is a joke.

And as William Pitt (I think) observed - anything that Rev. Wright said, had he posted it on DU would have quickly climbed to the Greatest Page.

8. Okay
I'll put you down as good with Hillary's dragging us into Jessie Helms territory. Anything else you want us to know? Other than the Great Hillary Sulk-In of November will cause 5 centuries of Republican rule, that is.

11. Makes it pretty impossible to come together
Edited on Fri May-09-08 07:33 AM by Marrah_G
We know Obama pretty much has this won. Instead of being happy they have to continue to stop on her.

Frankly that puts us in a defensive position, rather then being able to move into his corner and trying to heal some of the wounds.

As long as she is being slammed I will defend her. Just as I would any of my other previous choices.

Expecting to us to hop on the Obama train and party while you stomp on the head of the candidate we had supported is unrealistic.

How can we be nice to her and her supporters when they continue to try and chop him down at the knees?

23. "Only two things will survive World War III: Cockroaches..." That's a play on Hillary's joke
You have any good jokes?

Here's a good one. Helen Clark, former prime minister of New Zealand: her opponents have observed that in the event of a nuclear war, the two things that will emerge from the rubble are the cockroaches and Helen Clark.
