"I have a much broader base" -Hillary
Ya, OK ...the person with the fewest votes and the fewest dollars has the broadest base.

I can't take it anymore...

18. Body-type jokes are sexist?
How many Clinton supporters have called Obama a "string bean," or something of the sort?

Stupid, I agree, but not necessarily sexist.

20. if you insult a body, and that body belongs to a woman
it's sexist. a double standard, but what are you going to do?

BTW, this is DU, so no one here should care that i call a republican Gramps. besides, its not an insult - i called my Grampa Gramps.

23. Well, OK then

The "string bean" stuff is pretty transparently silly anyway, because most everybody wants to be thinner anyway.

It's certainly OK to call McCain gramps. There is a Republican newsweekly out that has a picture of a red phone on the cover with the tag: "It's 3 am. The Phone Rings. John McCain is Ready." My first thought on seeing this was ""It's 3 am. The Phone Rings. John McCain can't find his teeth."

"Does this _________ make my butt look fat?"

In all the words in all the world in all the languages, there is no right answer.

21. Has that picture been photoshopped?
If it hasn't, I feel so bad for the lady in the picture. That is not funny at all. It hurts bad to be overweight.

24. A candidate has to act like a winner.
This claim of hers is vague enough to be something less than an out-and-out lie, but it is an intentional attempt to mislead us. This is the sort of thing a candidate should repeat until she makes it true, if at all possible.

So please don't judge her too harshly (and I intend no sarcasm or condescension here). She is a cornered animal, and this is a relatively benign defense mechanism. She may still have hope for some miraculously huge reversal of public opinion, and if she is to remain in the race at all, this is the way to do it.

You proclaim yourself a winner until you either win or have to drop out, and never acknowledge weakness. It's difficult to wish yourself victory, but it's easy to prophesy your own loss, even inadvertently.
