6. interesting notes
11:20 PM. Another milestone of sorts: if you COMBINE the results from Pennsylvania, Indiana, and North Carolina, it now appears that Obama will have gained in the popular vote between those three states. I am not sure about the delegate count.

11:10 PM. If we look at the outstanding vote OUTSIDE of Lake County, the model shows 3,771 votes for Obama and 3,000 exactly for Clinton. Most of that comes from the couple of precincts in Marion County that have yet to report. So Obama has just a tiny bit of wiggle room outside of Lake Co, but we all know where this is going to be decided.

11:00 PM. Because of the provisional ballots issue, it's a strong possibility that neither candidate will be able to declare victory in Indiana until days from now. (Well, except that Clinton already did declare victory).

11. Obama won 56% of Lake by 20K - could there be another 20K in there?
If so, he really could win - but no matter what - it will be razor close.

Either way, great news for our future President - Obama!

20. Argh... I think the pro-Obama areas are maxed out...

CNN saying the remainder of Lake County is from the rural parts of the district... gonna be very tough for him to close that 16.5k gap. Fingers crossed though.

23. Lake County has reported the Gary votes but is holding the other cities that went for Clinton
According to the mayors from these cities they turned in their vote totals up to 4 hours ago. Why would the county turn in Gary's votes (which make it look like Obama is now going to win) but withhold the votes from the rest of the county which supposedly favor Clinton? Is the mayor of Hammond (which is almost as big as Gary and which the mayor said Hillary won narrowly) lying? Is the Lake County elections board trying to make it look like Hillary lost so that she will lose this chance to get donations? Did the GOP get someone at Lake County to delay the release to psych out Dems?

If the Hillary bashers at MSNBC are declaring Indiana a win for Obama that could cost her millions in donations, just as the press ignoring Edwards' second place in Iowa cost him donations.

Here are stats about the cities in Lake County.

26. He is on CNN refusing to answer the question. They keep asking why
they would not release the results of the towns that already counted their votes and sent them in hours ago. He keeps harping back to how are counting 11k absentee votes. Then the CNN guys say "How about some partial totals" and this mayor says "We are counting 11k absentee votes" "But you could send us the totals you have" "But we have to count the 11k absentee votes!"

I think they were talking to a recorded message.

I also think the mayor of Gary might have been at the Lake County election center. I wish that someone had asked.

According to the mayor of Gary, they're not going to release their total results until after they've counted the 11,000 absentee ballots.

given a 1,000 plus margin added from Monroe's absentees.

38. CNN calls Indiana for Hillary (after the Mayor of Gary holds up the decision for
four hours while counting eleven thousand votes) but if you were watching CNN you got to see the Mayor of Hammond demand that he release the vote and suddenly the vote appeared.

Damn that was political theater!

Maybe the Mayor of Gary figured it would cost Hillary some donations. Or maybe they were hoping those eleven thousand absentee ballots would contain a miracle.
