That's the implication of this OP. Funny, this only comes up when the candidate is Jesse Jackson or Barack Obama. If Obama loses the GE, this argument will go on mothballs and be trotted out in time for the next black candidate.

According to NPR, Obama won 40% of the white vote in North Carolina, a state that is part of the former Confederacy. 45 years ago there were many places where he couldn't drink a cup of coffee; I'm sure there are still a few places like that. Why not celebrate the progress on that front rather than try to sully a victory? Isn't the right of black people to vote for elective candidates the whole point of the civil rights movement that so many fought at the cost of their lives?

Really, how fair is this for Democrats to say about other Democrats?
