15. Who's subverting the process?
Its not like suddenly the remaining primaries will be canceled, or that her name would be removed from the ballots.

It just ends her destructive campaign that might ensure a McCain victory in the GE.

Or does that possibility no longer matter to you Clinton supporters?

Just because the last few smidgens of the process haven't completed doesn't mean we don't know who the Democratic voters want as their nominee.

Edited on Sun May-04-08 01:48 PM by sfam
Hillary has made it CRYSTAL clear that she will fight to the last breath with everything she has with every issue possible, with every caricature possible in order to win. She is NOT going to give up until Obama is well over the total required and she has gotten emphatic "NO" messages at least three times a week from every pledged Obama SD.

Whether or not her campaign hurts the Democrats in November is irrelevant if she is not going to be the nominee.

26. It's irrelevant to Hillary.
A McCain win is a continuation of the last 28 years. A Hillary win is a continuation of the last 28 years. Repuke or DLC Repuke "lite" makes no goddamn difference. Therefore, if Hillary can't win, she wants to make sure McLoon does. Some people think it's all about 2012. I don't. I say it's about the DLC doing what the DLC always has done, undermining the REAL Democratic party by whatever means possible.

14. Why even have a convention?
In the old days the candidate was decided at the convention. Close primaries aren't anything new here though it's been a while. People had the cajones to go the distance all the way to the convention and let democracy run its course. The candidate who should win will.

People need to suck it up and let the process run its course.

If you can't handle the primary the general election is going to kill you.

32. What supporters of Obama are serious about
is seeing that Hillary stop her dirty campaigning and helping John McCain in the process. Are you pro-Hillary or pro-Democratic Party? I think that is the reason the one who has the least delegates should think about dropping out or at the very least, stop the infighting with this party. Maybe it could be a little more about U.S. and less about HER?

The guy has been using "peter" all day - some biblical reference. I figured he should include the Hussein to make his point stronger. Actually, I don't have a problem with Obama's middle name at all, not at all. Do you?

And, I do not live in freeperville, have never lived in freeperville, but do recognize I have less credibility than you cause I have fewer posts.

And as far as *gasp* a black president - I have probably waited WAY longer for you for that one....

57. You know, I've been called MANY things in my life,
and "asshat" and coming from freeperville really bothered me. I understand how my message could be taken wrong, but, in my head, it seemed so obvious.

The "peter" it was explained yesterday, is someone in the Bible who somehow spurned Jesus. Don't quote me on it, though, cause the bible really isn't my thing.

Thanks for responding. I feel better. I WILL remember "sarcasm" (to avoid responses like yours :)) even if they seem obvious to me. At the very least, I'll include

GO OBAMA!!!!

28. "....if Florida and Michigan are not seated fully as they voted."
Bullshit.

The voters in Michigan and Florida were told that, because of the deliberate rule violations by the DLC asswipes in their state parties, that the primaries would not count. In Michigan, there wasn't even anyone on the ballot except Hillary and "uncommitted". Many voters did the smart thing and didn't bother. Those who did, and tried to game the system for the cheating DLC candidate (and we all know who she is) deserve what they got, which is NOTHING.

There is no way in Green Hell that those illegal votes will be counted. Nor should they be. Howard Dean has said that delegates would be seated at the convention. I don't know his plan for doing so, but I would guess they aren't going to get a vote on the first ballot.

42. Now here is the real bullshit.....
".....because of the deliberate rule violations by the DLC asswipes in their state parties, that the primaries would not count."

Democrats actually saying that 2 million Democratic voters do not count due to party hack malfeasances? Now that is not only bullshit but a menu for political party disintegration.

And as a side dish, a major loss in the 2008 presidential and congressional elections by the Democrats.

The Democratic Party Charter's basic dogma mandates that every member shall be guaranteed equal participation in the nominating process and that basic dogma can only be changed by a national convention. No such change was made.

The DLC cannot decide which states count and which do not. Legal remedies? Probably few or none. But offended states and members can wreak havoc at the next convention and best of all, at the imminent general elections.

No slip of any kind at all. Neither the DLC nor the DNC can change the meaning and intent of the Democratic Party Charter which states clearly that every member of the party must be guaranteed full and unabridgeable participation in the party's nominating process.

If the Democratic Party refuses to count AND seat the Michigan and Florida delegates it will suffer very definitive losses in the trust and respect of all its membership with the possible exception, of course, of the candidate and his supporters who will enjoy a tainted and pyrrhic and temporary victory.

You can't win the GE. Stop tearing this party apart! If you concede rather than have the SD decide...you can help unite our party. Even if most your supporters have forgiven or understand your Wright issue...the Republicans and Indies and many Democrats WON'T. Don't you understand that? I don't want President McCain and that's who we'll get if you don't step down after the IN primary...unless you win. If Hillary has the momentum, maybe the majority of votes...the supers will go for Hillary when push comes to shove because they want to win.

50. no, stay in, because it's fun watching her slo-mo train wreck
her self-destruction gives me great glee after the pain she has caused. every day she reveals herself as a totally unprincipled dirtbag, someone without a soul, without a conscience, without class, the Katherine Harris of the Democratic Party, the embarrassing guest who overstays her welcome, dancing on the table with a lampshade on her head.

the old party stalwarts are abandoning her, she's bleeding superdelegates, it's mathematically impossible for her to win, her campaign is bankrupt, she has collection agencies hounding her (so she won't answer the phone at any time, let alone 3 am), she can only beg, threaten, blackmail, whatever it takes, she doesn't care, she has no pride, no dignity. anybody else, I'd feel sorry for, but I feel the same way about her as I do about Rove, her buddy--it's karma, baby. She's making a total fool of herself and is too puffed up with herself to notice. she thinks the world revolves around her and she is ENTITLED.

with each passing day, it becomes more obvious that she will never serve in public office again, not even dogcatcher. She was at, what? 56% disapproval a while back, pretty soon she'll be down in the "record lows" of bush country. her "base" is down to the ignoranti, the 19-percenters love her, she's "their type": a total LOSER.
