And has done it in a positive way......choosing not to smear Hillary where he could have.

33. when i talk to people about
voting for him this always comes up
"why doesn't he fight back he has a lot more to work with?"
i have to take the time to explain why that kind of politics is over
once they get it the smiles come out
i have turned 3 edwards supporters and 2 hillary people and I'm working on 3 or 4 unhappy republicans
and all i have to do is tell them that its ok to be a decent person and be in politics
that its ok to reach across the aisle to your rival(not your enemy your rival) as much as we disagree
the republicans are our RIVALS and they are also our fellow americans and we must for the good of all admit that many of their concerns are as legitimate as ours and to refuse to address them leaves us constantly in a state of political hostility that benefits none but those entrenched in partisan power
(the edwards people rarely need this concept explained)
its all about decency

as tom wolfe says
Decency! And decency isn't a deal, it's not a contract or a hustle or an angle! Decency... decency is what your grandmother taught you. It's in your bones!

disclaimer
this post is not an endorsement of the republican party or any of its present policies and anyone who in fact tries to make such claims as to the post or its content will hereto be referred to as asshole of the first party and will in fact be a disseminater of falsehoods

Knew it would be tough, but I expected Hillary to be the main problem, not the media. The fact that she never really threatened him meant the media had to overcompensate. And it has.

Or at least the visible part of it. The bottom of the problem, of course, is the ownership class, whose interests the media serve.

An older couple approached Smith and said, "We love what you're doing. You're so great for the country!" In true Hollywood fashion, Smith said, "Thank you!" As the star walked away, the old man said, "And we'll be sure to vote for you." :)

64. Wow, That Really Works
Use makeup to narrow Smith's chin & accent his cheeks & there's Obama's triangular lower face, then darken Smith's eyebrow's for that almost-a-unibrow look, grow his hair out a little bit, & you've got it. He already has the ears & teeth.

Cool.

25. Obama has his supporters to do his smearing for him...
Which has metastasized into open hatred. Obama has never acknowledged it, pretending to be above it all, even though he knows it is done in his name and for his benefit.

Bush did the http://dir.salon.com/story/news/feature/2004/08/28/moore_rove_swift_boat/">exact same thing in 2000 and 2004

"As he was rebuilding the Republican Party in Texas, Rove developed a template for smearing opponents. The goal was to have his candidates hover above the fray while urging their opponents to concentrate on issues, thereby constantly putting them in a position of having to play defense and deny unfounded accusations. Eventually, the Rove client, according to the script, would step out to demand an end to the ugliness. Of course, Rove wrote the narrative of these plans in such a way that calling for a truce would not occur until the damage had already been done to his opposition."

42. I've thought the same. But don't forget the LOCAL news channels controlled by the GOP.
For instance, after the 2000 the Carlye Group got busy purchasing local channels in OH and other closely contested states. Can you imagine how bias those local news channels were? They probably outdid CNN and MSNBC if that is possible.

47. My Letter to Dan Abrams
I expect FAUX news to push Wright into the ground, but I must say I was so broken by what Dan Abrams and the Verdict did on Friday and have aired it at least 3 times that I know of. Then for Hillary MSNBC has been running the fairytale life of Hillary Clinton over and over.

And for the record as Black Voter, I do not Support Obama b/c he is black, I chose to support Senator Obama, based on the way he ran his campaign. It upsets me to know end that Hillary says she wants to help the American People economically but leaves a firestorm of people she OWES money too from state to state. If you Owe someone $25,000 and you have over $109 million PAY THEM THEIR MONEY UP FRONT!
Ok on to the real reason I am posting for the first time.

So I sent my First letter to the networks ever:
Wanna here it, here it go!

Dear Mr. Abrams

I wish I was not writing you this letter right now, but after your show Friday May 2nd, well I just have one question that I would like answered. Why?

I have enjoyed watching your show, although I have not always agreed with you political opinion. I have always appreciated your fairness, with respect to, reporting about everyone good or bad. Most pundits on the news are extremely transparent with which candidate they favor. However, in your case, you always seem to remain on the fence merely reporting all sides equally. I respected you greatly for that ability to stay neutral.

Until your show tonight, I know you have to do as you are told, I understand there are people behind the scenes that ultimately pull your strings, but why did you do this show? Your show did not bring any new information to light. It only served to do exactly what FAUX news was doing simultaneously while your show was running, keep the wright issue at the forefront, to prevent Senator Obama from getting to the White House.

Does your show plan to devote an hour long special on how many jobs left this country because of Former President Bill Clinton's Policies? Or a story about how Senator Clinton is ONLY focusing on the "white uneducated vote" (MSM's words not mine). Counting on them to be too ignorant to know that her and McCain's Gas Tax Holiday Plan would put 300,000 people out of work. 12,000 of those jobs lost would be in NC, and IN. Directly costing the lively hood of the very people she has been trying to get to vote for her. Meanwhile, Senator Obama has never tried to target just one class of voters, the focus of his campaign has been to bring everyone together.

Will there be an hour long special about John McCain admitting today that the war in Iraq was about oil? ("My friends, I will have an energy policy that we will be talking about, which will eliminate our dependence on oil from the Middle East that will prevent us from having ever to send our young men and women into conflict again in the Middle East," McCain)I think the death of 4055 Soldiers who have died in a war that has lasted longer than all the wars of the 20th century, is far more important than another dead horse beating special about Obama and Wright.

My husband works with the one of the commands that is responsible for telling mothers and wives their loved one is dead. He told me he doesn't know if he will be able to keep it together the next time he has to tell a Mother her son died serving his country.
I am in no way a Wright supporter I never heard of him before this year, but why is Chris Mathews, and Keith Olbermann, and many other "reporters" allowed to acknowledge that this administration lied, but when Wright shouts it from the pulpit he is un-american.

I am sure they paid you well for this special, I certainly hope the money is worth it.

Be blessed Dan Abrams you are officially no better than FAUX News.

and it is so easy to see through what they are doing.

They are talking to people that have brains but can't use them because they are afraid, very afraid.

They are not just afraid of OBAMA, they are afraid of US controlling America.

This election is the last stand for the POWER GRAPING SPINNERS.

Never before in the history of American politics has a candidate run their campaign by involving so many people! Never has the candidate.s money come from donations from so many people. His campaign is brilliant.

Obama has brilliantly used his "experience" as a Community Organize US to be "We the People of the United States Of America."

They are afraid and they will stop at nothing.

conveniently forgetting the "love" shown Obama at the start of the campaign by the same msm mentioned in the thread title. When he finally gets a taste of what HRC has been enduring for years, they cry foul, and scream, "it's not fair". Funny that Obama's supporters cannot keep themselves from measuring their support for Obama by the level of hatred held for his democratic opponent. 51. Perhaps some good news.
Corporate media, the Clinton campaign, the McCain campaign, the RNC, and/or any Obama haters in Illinois have had weeks to dig up more dirt on Jeremiah Wright and project it onto Obama. If they had anything more than the 2-3 minutes of video clips they have run continuously for weeks now we would have seen it in the run-up to Tuesday's primaries in their effort to knock Obama out. It ain't there! They have already played and replayed a thousand times the worst bullshit they've got and he's still standing strong!
