Prmiaries & the GE: Winning the Battle & losing the War?
With the recent GE match up polls showing a stronger Clinton result when paired against McCain and a declining Obama, how can SD's ignore that? For all the genuine euphoria over Obama and his message of hope and change, which clearly resonates to many after the horror show of the last 8 years, if the GE match ups show otherwise what to do? Principle, fear of backlash, honoring previous results, the will of the people months ago? All these will be hand wringing talk for months in 2009 if the GE polls are accurate and the SD's focus on the battle and ignore the real war.

1. Any negative outcome ...
... will be blamed on Hillary.

But it won't work.

Not this time!

2. How can they ignore it? Simple.... Obama is a cash machine Clinton cant match
Clinton has little grass roots support (especially after whining about Obamas grass roots support), and she would never have the level of funding for the GE that Obama will have.

The SD's arent concerned about a few points here or there at this point, theres more than enough time for Obama to overcome that slight difference.

3. no ne's been negatively campaigning against Hillary yet. Just wait
till she get the nomination and then the republican 527s open up on her. It's unfortunate that she has so much baggage, consider that over 50% of the electorate has said they will never vote for her.

4. How can they ignore that?
Because for most of the race, once the voting actually started, Obama's been ahead. Since the voting started he's been ahead in every measurable way - votes, states won, money raised, delegates, and he's on his way to beating her in superdelegates. Do you really think the supers are going to look at a few days of polling and think that they undo all that has been accomplished by Obama?

5. If they sense a GE loss, it's their duty
they should do what ever they need to do to ensure a dem win in the GE. I do not envy their position in this - this SD thing is messy and creates problems while being established to solve problems.

7. And you think the Obama attacks will cease in the GE ?
if she is out? Whatever attacks she is accused of starting they will pale to the GE attacks and he seems to be effected by attacks. I admit the numbers are for now, but as a data point, it sure looks like Obama does not fare well with the current broad GE electorate.

8. Polls with three candidates in the race are meaningless
Polls this far away from the election are meaningless.

If last year's polls had been right, Hillary would have been the nominee after Super Tuesday.

These polls are just hot air to feed the 24/7 media machine.
