4. I don't know yet and no one should ask me yet
I am an Obama supporter but no matter which side you are on people will need time to heal once the nominee is clear. That's why I think it must not be dragged out beyond June. Do us all a favor and ask this again after it is over and we have some time to regroup.

5. How about this as a choice:
I don't really support either of them, but I will vote for whoever gets the nomination.

11. I can't imagine a way that Clinton could win the nomination...
Edited on Fri May-02-08 01:53 PM by Orsino
...in any way remotely as crooked as the sea of corruption McCain swims in daily. Although I have major differences with her and her campaign, she would almost certainly have my vote in November.

I'm pleased that her nomination seems only a remote possibility--but Obama ain't exactly the Second Coming, either.

12. Easy to be generous on such a far-fetched hypothetical as Clinton v. McCain
Sure I'd "vote for Clinton over McCain" in some alternate and undesirable universe... but I know I won't have to so...

13. By the time November
rolls around, the anger will have shifted to McCain, where it rightly belongs, and most people will vote for the Dem. nominee unless it looks like some "deal" was struck. I don't expect that to happen though, I think we're all just a little anxious because of the long season.

I will be thoroughly disappointed if Obama is not given the nomination that he's earned, but there are too many things, like the down-ticket races that are far more important than just the Presidency.

14. From a red state perspective
McCain will carry Texas, without a doubt.

That makes my vote a question of whether or not I like the Democratic sacrificial lamb.

If I don't like the nominee, I will skip that race on the ballot. And it won't change the outcome one bit.

16. I will vote for the Democratic candidate
Edited on Fri May-02-08 02:02 PM by TragedyandHope
The country in crisis and it is simply unacceptable to hand the country over to McCain. Many Democratic supporters on both sides may say the same thing now about their candidate's opponent in the Primaries, but we must cool down and come back together in the next few months.

Setting aside the distractions and bad blood, our two candidates positions on the issues are 90% similar. The road to November is also a fight for Congress. Supreme Court appointments in the next few years will be critical. McCain and the RW want to continue to flush the country down the toilet, transfer wealth from productive workers to the top .001% of Americans and bomb the rest of the world.

We cannot let that happen.

17. I will be one to admit it, I wont vote for Clinton! I think it would be...
too dangerous to have a wolf wearing a sheep costume, watching over the American sheeple and too many would fall right back to sleep just to be slaughtered. If the wolf that is running as a wolf gets in, I think people will be angry and get even more involved in the country and would pay more attention to what the wolf was doing. I don't buy the whole thing about how the person with the one letter will make abortions illegal or ban guns or any of that shit, those are just touchy subjects they both sides use to keep Americans divided and it would cause too much uproar within the population if they touch some of those subjects.

I also don't fall for the WWE wrestling style of politics that most believe in. There is no evil side and a good side, this isn't wrestling or a soap opera, there are corrupt people on both sides making fools of way too many Americans. I don't need to hear about the past 7 years either, it is the evil sides job to be obviously evil and the good side is supposed to act like the good ones as they secretly bend us over. I will take the one that tells me up front that they are going to fuck me so I can have a chance to defend myself. Look at how one of the popular good sides hero's gave us NAFTA and The Telecommunications Act of 1996...Thanks Bill, they have done wonders for the country!

I think the only way that America would have a chance at changing for the good, would be if the population gets involved in their country and Obama is the only candidate that has been pointing that out and running on that premise. Clinton would just let people fall back to sleep and continue on with the same agendas that she has been a part of...like war for oil, she is not a friend to average Americans.

The sad thing is, I don't think the media will allow Clinton to lose.

and her right-wing politics. I also fear what damage Hillary would do to the progressive wing of the Democratic Party if she became the nominee. She would seek to destroy the progressive movement. The Democratic Party would become the DLC party and the American people would have no one to defend them from the kind of right-wing policies and legislation carried out during the Clinton-Bush years.
