I'd like to know the source of that Kantor video. If I had to bet, I'm guessing it is very
similar to the source pushing the Wright videos.

If so we should all be ashamed for jumping into the right-wing echo chamber so quickly. Every last one of us pushing Wright or Kantor.

I fell for it, like others fell for the right-wing campaign re: Pastor Wright. I am embarrassed. Are you?

My apologies.

1. The Obama campaign does not need its own Sidney Blumenthal.
There are enough drunk assholes to go around that we don't need to add another to the pile.

2. I fell for it

He clearly says "Those people are shitting" We should handle this better than the other side did with fingergate and snubgate and let it go.

Blumenthal and the robo calls are real issues that I'm afraid have lost attention and some legitimacy from the Kantor fiasco.

3. Thank you...
I almost fell for the Kantor video, except for one small thing...last night I was sitting here reading DU, and I thought, well it's Clinton's turn...and sure as shit, this came up this morning, just in time to be the main topic all weekend.

Just like the Wright Bullshit happens on a thrusday or Friday, to be chewed like cows chewing a cud, all weekend...I was surprised, I was right...it played out like clockwork, that is why my bullshit meter went off this morning. I knew something was coming.

4. If wasn't stuck in the car when this thing broke I don't think I would of been so gullible.
Schultz had me so fired up as a native hoosier I was seeing red when I got home.

10. I am sorry you went through that
they are playing off of us...we already are vicious in our support. they just tossed on the fuel and watched us burn. We have to realize the media is in thier pocket, and they are playing to win, they have too much to lose.

Its time for us to circle the wagons, the savages are attacking.

18. To true.
I've never been much on the unity ticket idea, but it looks pretty damn good right now given the b.s. both candidates are facing come the general. We are going to need their ground troops.

5. My guess, the Clinton campaign is behind both
The Cantor video is so obviously a dodge from the two more important potentially damaging to Clinton revelations that have come to light in the last day (Blumenthal's Rovian Obama smear email mass mailings, the direct ties of the NC robo calls to Hillary's own campaign) that it doesnt serve the interests of anyone but the Clinton campaign.

Oldest GOP play in the book.

6. The Clinton camp was just a filter for the Wright stories. The Stormfronters, Freepers, and other
known racists hangouts had been drudging that shit up for months before it broke on the networks. When Blumenthal started passing it around was when they started running it.

My guess is that this has been a rightwing folklore since the documentary came out. Grudges run deep in Indiana. Someone's been holding on to this one.

11. Im sorry, but you have to understand that Clinton would have investigated..
....the Wright issue long before the MSM (or the GOP) would have.

(The GOP were assuming that Clinton wouldnt face a serious challenge, so they wouldnt have bothered.)

They are known to have close ties to Murdock and Fox News, so feeding the info to them to make it seem as if it was the GOP doing it would serve their interests.

14. They didn't have to, Free Republic and other sites had already dug through
those sermons and found what they were looking for. It was served up to Clinton.

The first time I saw those videos was months before any democrat gave a shit while trolling around on rightwing sites. They hadn't been edited as professionally and spliced together but they were there. All it takes is a somebody with a MAC to do the rest.

7. Truly, I think it was either an overzealous Indiana Obama supporter
or a Hillary plant within the Indiana Obama network. I saw it come up on the Indiana Obama supporter listserve.

8. How does a tiny rumor like that blow up so quickly. All the legitimate shit
gets amplified loudly on the net and it never hits the networks. Someone was pumping this hard.

12. I noticed that the reference to the doctored video of Mikey Kantor has been...
...removed from the Wikipedia entry about Kantor. I'm not accusing the Wikipedian who is editing the Kantor entry of being the creator of the smear video, but I would like to know when the reference to the video was added to the entry.

21. It looks like Ben Smith over on Politico has been in contact with
the source, who evidently has reposted it without the subtitles:

23. Yup, I fell for it originally too. Then I remembered "fingergate" and
decided to wait and see.

And sure enough, just like fingergate, this is a tempest in a teapot.

Let's all apologize, cleanse our palate by watching the real YouTube classic: "Hillary gets whupped by the coffee machine", and then move on.

24. I fell for it as well
But I'm also interested to know who posted the "enhanced" video on YouTube. It shouldn't be that difficult to track that down. I think the official campaigns' hands are clean. But I'd be interested to find out which candidate they support. Additionally, we may have all been played by the RW smear machine. They want to keep this primary hostile and keep it going. They want to sow discord among Dems. So I wouldn't be suprised to find out that this came from them.

25. I fell for it, too.
And although I made a half-assed attempt to defend Hillary (thought the guy wasn't with her campaign, happened years ago, she can't be responsible for what people say in non-public conversations, etc), I had no problem believing that Bill's campaign was filled with such smarmy people. If it made it to the news, I hope the truth of the matter does as well. I really do feel badly about it.

I became what I'd been critiquing in those pushing the Wright B.S.
