I went back and looked at the original and cranked up the volume and watched Mickey's lips and saw he, indeed, said "shitting."

For another, I considered the context of the scene. They'd just seen an exit poll that showed them in the lead in Indiana. Why call people who just voted for you, "shits," or "shitty"? Makes no sense.

Lastly, I'm not sure what was said in that final whisper, but I do know people were calling the Clintons (Bill, Roger, their mother Virginia) white trash in 1992, so it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine someone had called Bill a "worthless ..." as well, and it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine Kantor may have been referring to that. It would make sense, in context.
