If Hillary can keep it close in NC, she can still win the popular vote...
Which has been her strategy all along. Because she will most likely win IN and will sweep KY and WV 2-1 over Obama. Also, Hillary is favored by a good margin in Puerto Rico, which has a lot of votes.

North Carolina is very important for Obama if he wishes to keep Hillary from taking over the popular vote lead. Unfortunately, there are reports that some black churches in NC are divided between Obama and Reverend Wright and this could dampen his turnout in that state. If Hillary can keep it close or win it, then a lot of delegates will have to take a second look.

Just because Obama has the lead in pledged deleagates does not mean he will automatically be the nominee. If he crashes and burns near the end of the campaign, the SD's will take that into consideration.

Obama needs to understand why Hillary is winning in OH, PA, IN, KY, and WV. It is about jobs! jobs! jobs! These folks have fond memories of the economy under Bill Clinton and believe that Hillary will return them to those golden days. Obama needs to explain to the people that the bad economy is directly related to the price of oil and gasoline which is directly related to the war in Iraq. He may need to draw them a picture that he did not vote for that war. He did not vote for this bad economy. Hillary did.

2. No.
It's about convincing the SD's that you won more votes than your opponent. You are stuck in the rules. :-)

3. I have a bad feeling that Hillary is doing well in some states because of racism.
It's bad enough that one Democratic candidate is winning votes because of racism. Worse, most of those racists will never support a woman for president in the general election. If Hillary wins the nomination on the basis of racism, she will lose the GE to McCain because of sexism.

4. Obama is not attacking her effectively when she talks about jobs
He needs to connect the bad economy to the war in Iraq. And who voted for it...

6. You do know, the popular vote doesn't win this?
"If Hillary can keep it close or win it, then a lot of delegates will have to take a second look."

I don't know why any people are looking like this? With 45 states down and 7 states to go, the starting line doesn't start today (or next Tuesday in NC and IN). Obama won 11 states straight and I believe another 8 states straight.

11. You do know, that the SD's can vote for whomever they wish...
They are not tied to the delegate or the popular vote.

9. And she would still have no path to nomination.
There aren't enough SD's left to help Clinton anymore, unless every single one of them declared for her and we all know that isn't going to happen.

10. No, she can't. There's not nearly enough votes.
She may sweep KY and WV. But Indiana's a toss up, and Obama's going to take Oregon easily.
