She sent me a nastygram and as much as I wanted to blast her, I backed off and sent a very diplomatic response. She answered telling me that I was the one Democrat she was willing to listen to. She wants my honest opinion on Iraq and is willing to listen to my comments on other Bush issues. She may not agree, but she is willing to listen and I consider that to be a major victory.
Ask her the simple question. Is the Bush you see now what you expected to see in 2000? There was a thread the other day about a conversion similar to your experience. It can be ineffective trying to push someone toward a way of thinking or conclusion. It is much easier to lead them. You've passed the first and second hurdle. She's not only open to discussion of different viewpoints, she values your viewpoint and logic. The next step would be exposing the special interest and bias of those information sources that guide her opinion. I'm really interested in keeping this thread going. Keep us informed on what her issues are and what has her upset.
