I swore off the Kool Aid years ago.
And I sure as shit haven't even sniffed any this election cycle.

Look where we find ourselves:

Clinton is trying to win the nomination by employing tactics that are just plain toxic. She is trying to win by getting the super delegates to go against the already-cast votes. Yeah ..... majority-schmajority. Then she's trying to get Florida and Michigan seated with the votes all going to her. In defiance of what the party decreed (stupidly, in my estimation - don't even get me started on **that** tangent). If she prevails, the net result is civil war in the party. She should have dropped out after Sooper Tuesday. But she and the Big Dawg have a terminal case of I Want to Go Home Again. ............Well ya can't. Deal with it.

Thanks a fucking lot, Clinton(s). You look pathological.

Meanwhile, we have Ted Mack's Amateur Hour Redux on the other side. How hard would it have been a few weeks ago to just say "He's my pastor, so what?" With that chin stuck up and out. As it always is. And then follow up with lots of "None of your fucking business, asshole. Go cover some NEWS for a change." Did that camp think they were going to get by with taking both sides of the issue, too? Like they always try to do? So today, after watching his pastor say what was on his mind, Obama feels compelled to throw him under the bus for good? What did that "great" speech he gave about race mean? Nothing? Flip. Flop.

Thanks a fucking lot, Obama. You look flatfooted and shell shocked.

The climate in this country has NEVER been more ripe for a generational change in the party of governance than this year.

And we have these two.

I'm sorry. I never supported either one. I sure as shit don't support either one now.

Clinton can't beat Obama and Obama can't beat himself.

Maybe next time we'll think a little longer and a little harder about what it takes to win an election in this country.

Yeah, sure. Flame me for being a Defeat-O-Crat. Flame me for spewing right wing talking points. Flame me for being premature. What the fuck ever. Just don't blame me. Cuz I been trying to tell ya.

How about we pick better candidates?

And maybe next time (if there is a next time) we might actually fucking win for a change.

5. Do you want a meaningful reply to what you yourself refer to as flamebait?
Suck it up and quit bitching or McCain will be President. But maybe you'd like that, just for the fact that you can shout "I told you so" to everybody. If not, wake up to what the alternative to a Dem in the Presidency will mean.

10. Where does the OP refer to his post as flamebait?
Seems to me he was just saying that people were going to flame him, even though what he says is perfectly reasonable.

It all depends on which posse you run with. So long as you run with the Kool Kids, you're okay.

Neither were my first or even second choice... but I don't see Obama's reversal today as negating his previous comments.

17. They have very similar experience.
I'm not saying one is more qualified than the other, but do Obama's accomplishments and years spent in Illinois not count for anything? What about his community work in Chicago? Does only state experience count? What about national and foreign policy experience, where Bill had zero?

Very similar

9. Well that "newcomer" is motivating millions... giving them enough hope
to fork over hard-earned cash in a tough economy... not to mention actually WORK for his campaign.

I wouldn't dismiss that so quickly.

12. I think today will go over very well for him
And it won't negate the speech on race. The people who are too stupid and bigoted to understand that he wouldn't abandon Wright before, but would today after the recent speech, wouldn't have voted for him anyways.

Would you defend the MSM controlled process and the corporate corruption of our democracy?

Can you imagine that for some people, their opinion about the candidates is based on something more important than picking and zealously defending their personal favorite and that accusing them of "sour grapes" is an insult?

Yeah, that's pretty much the point, silly.

14. I share your pessimism, what really bothers me is that right from the start
this race was first about who raised the most money, second, identity politics, and we had some hidden jewels running but they didn't get a fair shake with "coverage" because of the first category I mentioned.

The "vetting" has been terrible, and I honestly feel that too many self -described Democrats jumped on some bandwagons way way too early......

FYI, I actually saw all 8 candidates on our side who ran in NH during the spring, summer and fall leading to the primary.

I jumped on no bandwagon and I feel the better for it. I just wanted the strongest Democrat who is actually a progressive to win in November.

I gave up on the progressive part and now it appears I am looking at 2 weak candidates( but I thought that anyway when I saw them in NH last summer, but that's another thread)

It's just a shame that we have to work as hard as it appears we do post Denver Convention considering the actual reality we are living in

16. In My 6-7 Presidential Election Cycles
I don't believe I've ever witnessed anything as cynical as what's happening right now between the Obama campaign and its supporters.

If you read the transcripts from Wright's appearances since Friday, it would appear Obama threw a whole lot more than a pastor under the bus.

But since so much of what passes for 'discourse' these days IS a whine, I can understand your confusion.

But to your point .... yeah ..... the Fossil Fool is really nuts to think HE can stop a truthful ad when he did diddly shit to stop that ad against Obama that ran in NC. Fuck him.
