In the two week period before IN/NC Obama likely to pick up 20 delegates
As compiled by DemconWatch the most objective source on Delegates on the internet. http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/02/ultimate-delegate-tracker.html

Super Delegates already added

4-21-08 - Added DNC Enid Goubeaux (OH) for Obama
4-23-08 Added Gov. Brad Henry (OK) for Obama.
- Added Rep. John Tanner (TN) for Clinton
- Added DNC Audra Ostergard (NE) for Obama
4-24-08 - Added Rep. David Wu (OR) for Obama
4-26-08 - Added Kathy Sullivan (NH)# new NH add-on, for Clinton. Added DNC Charlene Fernandez (AZ) new AZ state vice-chair, for Obama.
4-28-08 - Added Sen. Jeff Bingaman (NM) , Fmr. DNC Chairman Paul Kirk (MA) for Obama.
We will add Mike Easley (NC) for Clinton after the endorsement becomes official.

In the two week period between PA and IN/NC Obama likely to pick up 20 delegates

1)Has already picked up 7 Super Delegates (some were recently added 'add on' Super Delegates)

2)The following pro Obama states will also be adding 7 'add on' super delegates and you would expect most of them to be for Obama.

Maryland 2 5/1/2008 Selected at the State Democratic Central Committee meeting.
Louisiana 1 5/3/2008 Selected by the Democratic State Central Committee).
South Carolina 1 5/3/2008 Elected during the State Convention
Illinois 3 5/5/2008 Selected during the State Convention

3) If Obama continues to add super delegate endorsements in the next week at the current rate he would add at least 20 super delegates in the 2 weeks before the Indiana and North Carolina primary.

As of today Obama needs only 137 Pledged Delegates to command the majority of pledged delegates and only 298 total delegates to secure the 2024 needed for nomination (Clinton needs 291/431 for the same)

11. NEW SUPER DELEGATE ENDORSEMENT
Kentucky congressman to endorse Obama

LOUISVILLE (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama's campaign director in Kentucky says Congressman Ben Chandler will endorse Obama for their party's presidential nomination.

Carolyn Tandy told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Chandler will announce his support for Obama at a midday news conference in downtown Louisville. Chandler represents a central Kentucky district and carries one of the most famous names in Kentucky politics.

The endorsement means Obama will have the backing of both of Kentucky's Democratic congressmen leading into the state's May 20 presidential primary.

Congressman John Yarmuth - who represents the Louisville area - previously endorsed Obama.

14. Another Senator endorses Obama Machacek from Iowa
Winthrop farmer Richard Machacek, an Iowa superdelegate, said today he is pledging to support Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.

Machacek, a member of the Democratic National Committee, had been uncommitted. He said he saw little difference between Obama and New York Sen. Hillary Clinton on policy positions or ability.

Machacek, a Buchanan County Democrat also on the party's state central committee, said Obama's performance at Saturday's Democratic district conventions in Iowa tipped the balance in his favor.

Obama netted 16 of the 29 national convention delegates at stake in the state's five congressional districts, while Clinton received nine. Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards received four delegates, having retained sufficient support in some districts despite leaving the race in January.

"I think it needs to be over, and in good conscience, I can't fly in the face of my precinct, county and district," Machacek told The Des Moines Register in a telephone interview. "The raw numbers coming out of the district conventions really sat me down hard."

21. Hope it's more.
But after May 20 when he has more than 1627... then we'll see some serious movement.

Finally.

Just wish they would recognize the fact that he's guaranteed to reach 1627, and endorse NOW. But I suppose timing's everything, and obviously there are many mathematically challenged (among other things) people in this country who won't see that Obama's going to take more than half the pledged delegates till the MSM tells them he has done it. That's the only reason I can see, that they'd still be holding off - looking for political cover, looking to be able to say he's done it and that's the reason they're endorsing him.
