God Damn you Reverend Wright!
How dare you say the things that you have said... Your speech at the NAACP was uncalled for, it was un-American and anti-Christian. These words of yours:

"Different does not mean deficient,"

"I've been running for Jesus a long, long time, and I'm not tired yet."

"Many of us are committed to changing this world we live in so our children and our grandchildren will have a world in which to live in to grow in, to learn in, to love in and pass on to their children."

"A change is going to come. Can you feel it? Can you see it? Can you imagine it? Then come on, let's claim it."

"Turn to your neighbor and say different does not mean deficient. It simply means different."

"Oh how I love Jesus because he first loved me"

"Many of us are committed to changing how we see ourselves. Many of us are committed to changing the way we treat each other. Many of us are committed to changing the way we mistreat each other. And many of us finally are committed to changing this world that we live in so our children and our grandchildren will have a world in which to live in to grow in, to learn in, to love in and to pass on to their children. We are committed to changing this world that's God's world, in the first place. Not ours. And I believe we can do it. It's going to take hard work, but we can do it."

"It's not about man's acceptance. It's about God's approval."

...these words of yours are tearing America apart, they are hurting us all...

God Damn you Reverend Wright...

God Damn you.

some of the most vile people I have come across. If I could dream up a more appropriate moniker I would be overjoyed.:)

18. Yes, we do.
He's an articulate, caring, thoughtful, highly-intelligent man. Go beyond the out-of-context clips strung together by the neocons and dividers; watch or listen to a whole sermon, or his interview with Bill Moyers, or his speech to the NAACP. Don't be taken in by the sound bytes.

10. my country is terminal.
Am I the only one that feels like we are being forced into the exact same situation as the late 60s? Has nothing changed? Why are all these fuckers screwing up MY future? Do I not matter, simply because I am young? Does nobody think a moment past election day? This country cannot afford a Clinton-McCain GE. But why am I not surprised; as a country, we've seemingly forgotten Vietnam, the struggle for equal rights, the Constitution. After you all are gone, will my country still survive?

26. No one seems to actually be listening to him...
Well, those who aren't listening are making their ignorance known, at any rate.

I'll admit, I've had more verbal warfare with Obama folk as of late than I have with Clinton folk... me being not attached to either... but this is weird... I'm seeing a LOT of ignorance in both camps on this issue.

19. Why don't you Hillbots condemn that America hating piece of shit Douglas Coe instead?
You know..... HILLARY's pastor??

The Family's most visible activity is its blandly innocuous National Prayer Breakfast, held every February in Washington. But almost all its real work goes on behind the scenes--knitting together international networks of right-wing leaders, most of them ostensibly Christian. In the 1940s, The Family reached out to former and not-so-former Nazis, and its fascination with that exemplary leader, Adolf Hitler, has continued, along with ties to a whole bestiary of murderous thugs. As Sharlet reported in Harper's in 2003:

During the 1960s the Family forged relationships between the U.S. government and some of the most anti-Communist (and dictatorial) elements within Africa's postcolonial leadership. The Brazilian dictator General Costa e Silva, with Family support, was overseeing regular fellowship groups for Latin American leaders, while, in Indonesia, General Suharto (whose tally of several hundred thousand "Communists" killed marks him as one of the century's most murderous dictators) was presiding over a group of fifty Indonesian legislators. During the Reagan Administration the Family helped build friendships between the U.S. government and men such as Salvadoran general Carlos Eugenios Vides Casanova, convicted by a Florida jury of the torture of thousands, and Honduran general Gustavo Alvarez Martinez, himself an evangelical minister, who was linked to both the CIA and death squads before his own demise.

At the heart of The Family's American branch is a collection of powerful right-wing politicos, who include, or have included, Sam Brownback, Ed Meese, John Ashcroft, James Inhofe and Rick Santorum. They get to use The Family's spacious estate on the Potomac, The Cedars, which is maintained by young men in Family group homes and where meals are served by The Family's young women's group. And, at The Family's frequent prayer gatherings, they get powerful jolts of spiritual refreshment, tailored to the already powerful.

Clinton fell in with The Family in 1993, when she joined a Bible study group composed of wives of conservative leaders like Jack Kemp and James Baker. When she ascended to the Senate, she was promoted to what Sharlet calls the Family's "most elite cell," the weekly Senate Prayer Breakfast, which included, until his downfall, Virginia's notoriously racist Senator George Allen. This has not been a casual connection for Clinton. She has written of Doug Coe, The Family's publicity-averse leader, that he is "a unique presence in Washington: a genuinely loving spiritual mentor and guide to anyone, regardless of party or faith, who wants to deepen his or her relationship with God."

Furthermore, The Family takes credit for some of Clinton's rightward legislative tendencies, including her support for a law guaranteeing "religious freedom" in the workplace, such as for pharmacists who refuse to fill birth control prescriptions and police officers who refuse to guard abortion clinics.

GOD DAMN YOU DOUGLAS COE

GOD DAMN YOU HILLARY CLINTON

22. I love Rev. Wright
And I love him more every time I hear him speak. God Damn Me Too...

Obama should have embraced their differences instead of denouncing what Wright had to say. By denouncing, he made himself look like the rest of the weaklings. He should have stood up for the good Reverend, and told everyone to stop, breath, and think. We don't all have to be the same. We don't all have to agree with every word our Pastor says.

There's not a damn thing wrong with what Rev. Wright has said. I wanted to dislike him. I wanted to find fault. Instead, I found a man who walks the talk... they are precious to our society and should be honored, not denounced.
