That clown is going around making a fool of himself. My question is: Would Obama rather have Wright shut-up or does Obama embrace the nutty nonsense being spewed by that pseudo-intellectual jackass pastor?

Obama distanced himself from specific comments that he claimed he didn't hear, but then Wright said Obama was just saying that because he had to in order to get votes. So now Wright has hung Obama out to dry (probably without even realizing it, idiot that he is), which leaves the door wide open for Obama to put this to rest once and for all and denounce the pastor and all the bullshit we've heard out of his mouth over the last few days.

I don't think Obama has the guts to do it. He'll try to HOPE this away, but if he thinks this isn't going to be a major issue in the general election, then he's even more naive than he already appears.

18. What do you like?

I personally found this very entertaining last night:

In the 1961, it's been all over the Internet now, John Kennedy could stand at the inauguration in January and say, "ask not what your country can do for you, it's rather what you can do for your country." How do you spell is? Nobody ever said to John Kennedy that's not English "is". Only to a black child would they say you speak bad English. Kennedy got killed. Johnson stepped up to the podium and love feel, we just left love feel. And Johnson, said my fellow Americans. How do you spell fellow? How do you spell American? Nobody says to Johnson you speak bad English.

Seriously, he comes off as mildly schizophrenic or perhaps in the early stages of Alzheimer's. And, no, I'm not making fun of those disorders; it's just an observation of Wright, having seen people in similar phases of dementia.

The conspiracy theories or the claim that "different is not deficient" from a man who said last night: "everybody in here who's not an Indian do be an immigrant."

7. Wright is not Obama. Obama is not Wright.
Wright is not running for a thing. He is his own man, as is Obama. Neither are the other ones minders.

I've seen enough of Wright, as I am sure most of America has. At this point, we get it. Obama looks great by comparison. Obama clearly does not act or believe the same as Wright, and that is obvious to everyone.

Wright is now an just an American citizen, no longer a pastor of Obama's church. He is practicing free speech, and it is not Obama's place to play speech police.

10. I'd say with $40+ million and all those Frequent Flier Miles
Wright could be sent anywhere.

I agree with the Reverend on some issues, however, he certainly is becoming a problem to Obama's campaign and a liability if this continues into the General Election the more he speaks.

24. Wright may be a worthy person, but he's acting like a destructive clown
Have you ever heard of setting aside a personal agenda for a greater good.

IMO electing Obama is a much greater good than Wright's useless rhetorical derailing of the possibility of electing America's first Black president.

Wright's ego on one hand......A much bigger prize on the other?

Maybe you think I suck, but I see that as a no-brainer.

37. Not the only reason -- But in terms of race it would be a great leap forward
Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 09:04 PM by Armstead
Of the two candidates we have, I prefer Obama for many reasons. Most of them have nothing to do with his ethnicity.

But in the context of race, the fact that he is African American would be a major step forward in breaking one of the final polical barriers.

29. I think I have found just the place!
Bouvet Island is the most remote island in the world. The nearest land is Queen Maud Land, Antarctica, over 1,600 km (1,000 miles) away to the south, which is itself uninhabited.

It has no ports or harbours, only offshore anchorages, and is therefore difficult to approach. The waves have created a very steep coast. The easiest way to access the island is with a helicopter from a ship. The glaciers form a thick ice layer falling in high cliffs into the sea or onto the black beaches of volcanic sand. The 29.6 km (18.4 miles) of coastline are often surrounded by an ice pack. The highest point on the island is called Olavtoppen, whose peak is 780 m (2,559 ft) above sea level. A lava shelf on the island's west coast, which appeared between 1955 and 1958, provides a nesting site for birds.

Because of the harsh climate and ice-bound terrain, vegetation is limited to lichens and mosses. Seals, seabirds and penguins are the only fauna.

35. Rev. Wright is just a minister -- and more brilliant than most
He's just a minister, for heaven's sake. He's not running for office. He's a scholar and an orator. He has helped me understand our differences. Are Dems really such wimps that once Fox News makes hay of the Reverend we've all got to drop him and hide him and NO NO NO DON"T LISTEN TO HIM... Oh no, we gotta run -- Foxies are using Rev WRight quotes. Ooooh. we're scared... Why not have more Democrats speak up in support of the Reverend's distinguished service?

36. LOL. Brilliant? Scholar?
Did you watch/listen to the speech? The theme "different does not mean deficient" is bullshit from the start, but he did a good job of disproving his own statement. All you had to do was pay attention to his grammar. Yes, there is such a thing as proper grammar. There is no "different" grammar. Sorry.

Aside from that, his knowledge of history is quite deficient. Not to mention his strawman arguments about Arabic vs. Islam. Oh, and also his butchering of JFK's quote, which is relevant because he went on to attack the part of the quote that he made up.

He's a buffoon. Wake up.
