Obama is not Black
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 07:01 PM by searchingforlight
Obama is not Black or White he is an American UN

Sorry, hit the button too soon.

He is a composite of everything good about this country. He is truly a product of the melting pot we all brag about. I am always surprised when I hear that he is Black. Why don't people say that he is White?

2. Maybe it goes back to a long-held mindset so prevalent in America, the one drop of blood
concept, the wholesale incarceration of American citizens of Japanese descent during WWII down to 1/16th Japanese blood 'cause after all, you just don't know what those of 1/8 Japanese decent might do, so better be safe than sorry mentality prevailed. :D

4. Because he is running as the "black" candidate
he has disowned his white heritage himself. He started out running as an American then he started the race baiting in NC himself. Hillary used a farm country saying that he hadn't done the spade work, he made it a racial slur. Bill said Jesse Jackson won NC too, that was made out to be racial, it was fact. The state has a very large percentage of black population and 90 plus percent vote for a candidate he is going to win and that's just fine. But now if 90 plus percent of whites had voted for Hillary that would have been racist on their part..

Third Clinton Volunteer Knew Of Smear E-Mail

A third volunteer for Hillary Clinton's campaign was aware of a propaganda e-mail alleging that Barack Obama is a Muslim who plans on "destroying the U.S. from the inside out."
"Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential Candidacy," the email reads. "Please forward to everyone you know. The Muslims have said they Plan on destroying the U.S. from the inside out, what better way to start than at The highest level."

Two Clinton volunteers, Linda Olson and Judy Rose, have already been asked to resign from the campaign for their roles in forwarding the e-mail. The AP reported yesterday that Olson, a volunteer coordinator in Iowa County, sent a version of the e-mail to 11 people, including Ben Young, a regional field director for Chris Dodd's campaign. Young passed it on to the AP.

Kerrey Apologizes to Obama Over Remark
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=4031436
Kerrey's mention of Obama's middle name and his Muslim roots raised eyebrows because they are also used as part of a smear campaign on the Internet that falsely suggests Obama is a Muslim who wants to bring jihad to the United States. Obama is a Christian.

The Clinton campaign has already fired two volunteer county coordinators in Iowa for forwarding hoax e-mails with the debunked claim. Last week, a national Clinton campaign co-chairman resigned for raising questions about whether Obama's teenage drug use could be used against him, so Kerrey's comments raised questions about whether the Clinton campaign might be using another high-profile surrogate to smear Obama.

Bill Clinton Asks for a Second Chance

By Liz Halloran
Posted February 11, 2008

The morning after his wife, Hillary, was routed in three state contests by Sen. Barack Obama in their dead-heat battle for the Democratic nomination, former President Bill Clinton made his case for her before a packed Sunday service at one of the largest black churches in Washington, D.C.
But first he offered an apology of sorts for racially tinged comments he made about Obama and his candidacy that have triggered a backlash in the black community and among many other Democrats.

Clinton invoked his "worship of a God of second chances" in pronouncing himself glad to be at the Temple of Praise, which claims nearly 15,000 members. His invocation of second chances echoed comments he made early last week at black churches in California, where he campaigned for his wife before that state's Super Tuesday primary, which she won.

Bill Clinton To Apologize At LA Black Churches
Once again, Bill Clinton is ready to repent.

On Sunday the former president is scheduled to visit black churches in South Central Los Angeles, where he's expected to offer a mea culpa to those who "dearly loved him" when he was their president, Rep. Diane Watson (D-Calif.) says.
Watson, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus who has endorsed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), tells us she'll usher the former president to more than half a dozen churches in her district where she says he needs to "renew his relationship" with congregants who were turned off by his racially tinged
comments in the days leading up to and following the South Carolina primary. (Such as when Clinton compared Sen. Barack Obama's landslide victory to Jesse Jackson's wins in 1984 and 1988.)

Clinton adviser steps down after drug use comments
Earlier Thursday, Clinton personally apologized to rival Obama for Shaheen's remarks.

Obama accepted her apology, according to David Axelrod, the top political strategist for the Obama campaign.

COMPTON, Calif. (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton and her campaign tried to mend ties to black voters Thursday when a key supporter apologized to her chief rival, Barack Obama, for comments that hinted at Obama's drug use as a teenager.
The candidate herself, meanwhile, praised the Rev. Martin Luther King and promised to assist with the rebirth of this troubled, largely black city.
------------------

Johnson's comments and remarks by both Clintons before the New Hampshire primary last week had alarmed several black leaders and drew a rebuke from Obama and his top aides.

It began when Hillary Clinton gave an interview in which she seemed to discount King's role in the civil rights movement. Later, former President Clinton cast aspects of Obama's candidacy as a "fairy tale."

21. vile little turd of a post.
Let correct your slimy lies. Far from denying his white background, he's embraced it in speech after speech, honoring his mother, his grandmother and his grandfather. He never race baited, while there is zero doubt that the Clinton campaign tried to frame him as a fringe minority candidate who couldn't attract white voters in the states voting after SC. They tried to turn his win their into a millstone around his neck. Bill's comment about Jackson winning SC- not NC, genius, were in response to a question that had zip to do with that. And why couldn't Bill Clinton think of any other dem candidate in the past who'd won SC- like himself, for example. And if you can't see the difference between white voters who won't vote for a black candidate and black voters who have fucking voted faithfully for white candidates for decades, you're a fucking idiot.

Thank God I didn't select a Lions avatar. They're, um, a little bit harder to identify with.

11. Please understand how us blacks are classified; if you even have an ounce
you are black that is the way it is and always will be. If you have one ounce of Asian for example you are NOT classified as anything.

12. I keep trying to find that "ounce" (dammit)
There are indications (family "rumors"?) that my great-grandmother (father's mother's mother Mahalia Clements, born ca 1852 in the Shenandoah Valley, migrated to Kentucky then Ohio) was (all or 'part') black, but I've not been able to confirm it. Frustrating. (I'm lousy at genealogy.) Race was a very touchy subject in that part of my family, as I recall as a child, and never discussed around my grandmother (who died in 1962).

17. I have Mormon cousins that have verified my African Heritage
they couldn't become clergy as a consequence of it

so I laughed my ass off and I'm quite proud of that great great forbear that escaped slavery and passed for white... hid out in the Ozarks and raised a family with a Native American wife.

I look like a doggone Swede though

My AA ex GF has kin from the same county in Arkansas... her foot is the exact weird shape as mine...

she likes calling me "Cuz"

For predominately white people, it has always been "not talked about" and only counts if it shows...

In society, if you have physically identifiable and obvious African American heritage... you are treated and seen as Black... period.

that's it... Obama is Black because society identifies him as such and he faces the same challenges in America.

this is kind of a weird post... nothin personal

I was expecting to see "He's an American" or something.
