2. How come Dean goes down if they do?
They're well-known critics -- there's no way that Dean would
necessarily HAVE to go down if they do. (It's not like if
Terry McAuliffe were still chairman -- now in THAT case, the
chairman would go down with the candidate.)

well, I can't come up with a metaphore that won't get my post deleted.

They blame him for their troubles. The DLC screwed him in 04, and as a response he took the DNC away from McAuliffe - if McAuliffe still headed the DNC, the FL/MI fiasco would have never happened because McAuliffe is their guy. The entire FL/MI thing was a power play between the DLC and the DNC as embodied by Dean. That's why they are blaming him and the DNC for it all, even though they instigated it.

So, yes, they WILL try to destroy Dean.

It's what they do.

12. I hope he fights them with everything he's got
There are PLENTY of people in the DNC right now who are PISSED at the
Clintons and will hopefully come to his defense if it comes to that.

6. No, that's not true at all
Howard Dean is taking his own self down. He has poor management skills, poor people skills, is not an effective chairman, and, has made a blunder with decision making skills.

8. He orchestrated the 2006 congressional victory
How'd he do that with such poor skills? Something the DLC couldn't do for two election cycles.

18. lol. delusional and hateful hillbot "thinking"
Dean is now recognized as having run the DNC very well indeed. He has superior management skills, the state parties love him and the only people in the party who speak dismissively of him are vile hillbots. tough shit for them that he didnt't bow down to the king and queen and great for all real dems.

Law suits and all. His 50 state strategy is too threatening to them.

16. Yup, they tried to keep him from getting the position
in the first place and then they tried after the big Democratic election wins in 2006. I would bet they will go after him with a vengeance, they're so vindictive.

17. The Clintons will find out the limits of their power and popularity.
Sure, Bill Clinton's presidency looks good from here and now, and he's a genius compared to the shrub. But the Democratic party's love for him is wider than it is deep. The party deeply respects Al Gore, but they are ambivalent about Bill Clinton. And the party deeply respects Howard Dean, because he has done a lot of selfless things for the party.

I think the respect for Bill and Hillary is wearing very thin right now, and if they keep pushing, there isn't going to be much left at all,
