It doesn't matter how much Obama supporters like me post links to delegate calculators and say "it's over" (and it IS over) or how many times Clinton supporters say, "oh yeah, well that ain't 2025" (I am not sure if they are referring to delegates or some radio frequency on the other dimension they seem to be from).

Shit, here we are fighting and wapadoodling each other over the head until we're all frazzled, tired, mean and nasty and it just dawned on me, like a revelation! It's up to Skinner. It doesn't matter what we think. Hell, it doesn't matter what the campaigns think!

It is Skinner who is all powerful, all knowing and beyond reproach. When he says "it's over", then it's fucking over, not a microsecond before or after, but at that exact moment in time.

When "A Few Reminders" was handed down, I think at that time there was a temporary swell of feeling that Clinton might be about to drop out. When people are UNSURE as to whether the campaign may end on any day (particularly after Edwards dropping out a little suddenly) people's tendency to fight ferociously grows, to sort of pre-emptively get in last licks. The grace week defuses that problem.
