Poll question: DU POLL: Hypothetical President/VP options
I believe McCain will be a weak candidate, but I also wonder if we can beat him without a united ticket.

1. This is stupid. It's been thoroughly established that on DU, only Clinton supporters...
... advocate a "unified" (i.e. Clinton being on the ticket win-or-lose) ticket.

14. Are you kidding me?
If Clinton managed to convince the supers to give her the nomination despite being behind in delegates and votes she'd have to beg Obama to take the VP slot in hopes of avoiding a fracture in the party. And as an Obama supporter, I'd hope he would take it, but wouldn't blame him if he didn't.

12. Iran would be better.
I'm sure they have heard her recent statements by now, and would give her a warm welcome.

15. Other: Gore/Obama
It is clear that both Hillary and Obama are now damaged, and it is clear that none of them can come with enough pledged delegates.

I was impressed with Andrea's scenario

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=5622666&mesg_id=5643398

I think that Gore will be drafted. Yet, to completely ignore Obama will set riots among all the new voters and, of course, their representatives.
