Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 10:33 AM by PerpetuallyDazed
Or is it too late for that now? Will the party still be splintered come the GE, either way?

On edit: HOLY F*CK! to the responses so far. What the crap? Do you think I *like* Clinton??

Priorities, PLEASE! Are we out to BEAT MCCAIN OR NOT?

7. I think this has to be a
joint ticket no matter who prevails. It will be the only way to bring some sense of unity to the party. THe quarter of the voters from each camp who insist they will stay home or vote for McCain rather than vote for the other in the GE need to calm down. This might be one way to take the sting out.

Obama/Clinton
Clinton/Obama

Neither of them might like it or want it but it will be good for the party.

9. I agree
He would take her. But I don't think that's a likely scenario. Her seat could be lost to Bloomberg if she leaves to be VP. I don't think the party wants to risk two senate seats if they win the white house. I think part of the problem right now for party leaders is that it makes sense PR wise for the loser to take the VP slot but it may not make sense for Congressional reasons.

10. Unlikely. I wish they had made a deal right after Edwards dropped out.
Although Hillary is clearly more responsible for this mess, Obama is not innocent. He knew that neither of them would have the delegates without SD influence.

They should have made a deal.

12. I don't see how he could possibly do it because ...
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 10:34 AM by BattyDem
she has crossed so far over the line with her criticism and insinuating remarks. The GOP is going to use HRC's attacks on Obama in their ads - we all know that - but those ads would be far more damaging if she were the VP candidate because they could include the tag line: "Barack Obama's own running mate doesn't believe he would be a good president. If she doesn't trust him, why should you?"

16. I'd prefer not, but I won't fight it.
I think she'll be a detriment to the ticket, and I prefer not to have her running as an "incumbent" 8 years down the road.

The areas they are criticized for being weak in, are the same.

20. I just hope that after the convention
we will all be able to "rise above principle" and vote
for that nominee, as JFK advised. Remember, conventions,
primaries and caucuses only produce party candidates,
they do NOT produce victors nor vanquished.
