Get ready: The Clintons and Republicans will push for Obama to put Clinton on the ticket.
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 11:03 AM by Skwmom
The Clintons will push for Obama to pick her as VP:

1. If Obama put her on the ticket (won't happen) I've heard from voters in OH that Clinton as VP will be in the "cat bird seat." I'll leave you to figure out what they meant by this.

2. If Obama doesn't pick her, she will cry victim and try to keep her supporters from backing Obama so she can run in 2012.

The Republicans will push for this ticket:

1. They will constantly say if something were to happen to Obama then Clinton would be Pres which would rally their base and drive independents to McCain (Clinton has an extremely low independent voter support - I think the latest poll was 20-25%).

2. They will use Clinton to negatively define Obama.

3. Another Woman
I think that after Senator Obama secures the nomination, he should place a female well-respected within the Democratic Party on the ticket with him (someone from Middle America, like Kathleen Sebelius).

It will send a strong message to Republicans that we're extracting the slime from our party, and that we respect our constituency as well.

6. Putting Clinton on the ticket is a 2000-foot ball and chain
We don't need no stickin' Clintons. They proved they are poison. Say buh-bye, Bill and Hill.

7. The push started awhile back. The party assumes we'll follow like sheep? Not me.
Keep her off the ticket, we need some new blood in the White House.

19. You are right but I think the push will switch into high gear.

On Morning Joe, the Republicans have been pushing this idea.

9. That is why she is still in this primary, going broke and asking for $5 donations.
It is to prove her worth to the ticket and to convince Supers that Obama cannot win without her.

18. If you are saying that Obama would not be safe after inauguration
then I agree. Sorry but between Clinton, * and the right wing thugs he would not last a minute. So sad to say. That is to say if she were next in line.

16. Commercial # 1. Even Obamas own VP choice doesn't think he's ready to be Commander-in-Chief.
play video of Clinton saying her and McCain are qualified but he's not.

21. I suspect they already have and Obama is resisting putting Hillary on the ticket.
It's pretty obvious to me that can't stand the sight of her at debates but he plays along.

Truthfully, if the SD's demand it he may have to cave. It's his choice but I hope he continues to resist having her anywhere near the ticket.
