the GE.

I'm in Nebraska, McCain has very little support here...my whole state is Red...the GOP is in deep troouble.

6. nice.
If it were the general, Either Obama or Hillary would have blown McCain out of the water. If only it stays that way

Actually, even if you add up the entire Republic vote, either Democrat beats it.

Which is why the "I win the big states" arguement is meaningless. The people are turning to the Democrats in their millions.

bush has destroyed the GOP for the foreseeable future.

When one looks at what McCain has to offer...(nothing)...it's all over...and both Houses of Congress should get excellent #'s and that is really what we need.

:woohoo:

16. That is an important selection...I suspect that McCain won't last
another 4 years, he's not in the best of shape.

But in the long run, I really don't think he has a chance...his VP will be from the same veggie bin they seem to use when looking for a candidate...:D

18. I figure some were "OC", but that can work ot our advantage as
well.

I have been telling people around here that the GOP can't win without doing something underhanded, and cheating is not something any American should do in an election. People are listening, they hold their vote in high regard, and cheating is seriously frowned upon.

I figure if they can't get into office w/o cheating in some way, they are worse that dog crap anyway...even the R's around here agree w/that, and it might be one of the reasons they are both worried, and not all that fired up.

Just hit 'em w/the truth w/o getting into an argument...most of the R's I know are honest, decent folk, they know they've been "had" and are pretty aggravated it. The biggest problem they have is that "their" party has been hijacked by thieves and liars, they know it, but gentle reminders from me and others help drive home the point...;)

22. GOP primary is uncontested, too, though, in any real sense.
They have a nominee; any vote in the Republican primary would be a pro forma exercise and nothing more. I don't think the Republicans have much chance come November either, but it IS useful to keep in mind that Republican primary votes at this point aren't a good gauge of anything.

25. The GOP turnout doesn't do much for me...
Considering they have a nominee so there are no real stakes.

What DOES do something for me is that they have a nominee and have had him for almost 2 months now... who still can't beat 75% in their own primary when anyone voting against him is pretty much lodging a protest vote at this point. But they still turn out to do it. Huckabee and Ron Paul took like 27% of the vote. Oh, how happy the Republicans must be with their choice...

29. Before he became the "heir apparent", they spent a lot of time
bashing him intothe ground...they're conflicted, which is fine by me.

Just wait until one of our candidates lets loose on the goomer...he'll self-destruct...he has nothing. He's running on..."I should be president, I 'earned' this".

30. One could argue that we're more conflicted than they are
Just due to the fact that we haven't decided on a nominee yet. Hopefully we can unify moreso than McCain unifies his base. We can't have as many democrats as the CNN exit polls suggest vote for McCain (which may not necessarily be true).

Hopefully, they will be turned off with McCain throughout the campaign.

If there was still a race on that side then it would be worth considering.

34. They have no motivation...both because McCain is in there...
and because McCain is in there. The second one being, they don't like him, so they are not motivated to go out and vote for him.

I know a lot of R's here in Nebraska...McCain is seen as a pariah, just another bush flunky, but on steroids.

People are in pain, and it is because of GOP policies, (and a complacent D congress), and they don't want to see any more of this.
