Poll question: Have you donated to your candidate so far?
Edited on Tue Apr-22-08 06:35 PM by Heywoodj
Regardless of which candidate that is, just to see how many here on DU have donated to the race of their choice.

If you did, what influenced your decision to give, and in what form did you give (e.g. money, volunteering, bought merchandise, etc)?
If not, what influenced your choice not to?

ETA: I would have donated, but there's that pesky thing about being a citizen to do so, where I'm just here to work. My other half has sent some money in, but I didn't consider it a good idea for her to double-up for both of us. I'd rather not create some sort of Buddhist Temple Fundraiser II.

Instead, I bought some token merchandise, just because I felt like owning something from two campaigns and it's something I can put to use. Nothing was said about those being donations to the two campaigns (more like liquidation of surplus stock after campaigns ended), whereas merchandise from others seemed to be an explicit donation.

1. I chose "No, not for either"--not because I don't support her enough, but because
my family is poor. Really poor. Food Stamps and Medicaid poor. If I had any extra money, I'd donate in a heartbeat, but I just don't have it. :(

Oh well. In my heart, I'm a million-dollar supporter for Senator Clinton. :hi:

2. If white American can stop being racist long enough
Edited on Tue Apr-22-08 06:15 PM by GetTheRightVote
1 out of 5 in Penn say they will not vote for Obama because he is a black American,
I finally thought we were enlighted, and republicans changed to demcrat so they can
vote for Hillary. It isn't even our primary anymore !!!!!

I was born in the state of Iowa, blue collar all the way with illegals coming in and stealing jobs per our corporations, destoried the unions which attempted to protect these workers while those born there lost their jobs to the illegal workers all thanks to Nafta and the Clintons. Let's not go down that street, I am still pretty upset concerning that whole deal. Down with Clinton and her selfish actions, voting for a war in Iraq and the deaths of thousands of soldiers as well as giving our jobs away. She does not attend church and lies about this as well. It is all really sick, just sick and I for one am very tired of her period. I kick her to the crib and her husband as well. I am so angry and bitter towards the Clintons and their like I can not tell you how much damage they have done while being two faced. I call Hillary republican lite, like miller lite and we all know what that means.

6. I gave to Obama for the Primary race only.
I'll give him more for the General when he makes it to the General. I don't want my money used for any other purpose than Obama.

7. Donated to him and then bought 500 Obama buttons.
We are having so much fun passing buttons out here in Ohio. I look at it as mini billboards spreading throughout the county. Bought 100 from PoliticalShop.com that have peace signs for the O in Obama and the 0 in 08. You would think that we were sharing gold nuggets. Go Obama. Peace, Kim

10. Just a qualifier. I donated to Richardson. I now support Obama.
I consider my donations to be the kiss of death for any candidate. Seriously, I give them money and they drop dead (politically speaking). I don't want to be responsible for the demise of another good Democrat.
