Obama avoids media in final days of PA
BLUE BELL, Pennsylvania (CNN) – It's now been ten days since Democrat Barack Obama has made himself available for questions from his traveling press corps, and it appears as though that number could rise even higher in the days to come.

Aides have said it'll be unlikely he’ll hold an availability with reporters before Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary, but that they "could always add one." Although given their track record over the past few days, that doesn't sound promising.

Over the past three days, the possibility of a media availability has been dangled in front of reporters twice—only to be snatched away at the last possible moment.

Does anybody know what this is all about? I remember seeing more about this not too long ago. Is this going to be a recurring thing with Obama?

Questions like "Did you know the girl you took to the prom was not a virgin?!?!?! Why are you running when that clearly disqualifies you."

And "In spite of the fact that the Republican party was sent here by god to defeat the Evilites, you are trying to remove them from their rightful and divinely ordained theocratic Monarchy. Does it hurt inside that you're a commie facist pinko god-hating Muslim Facist, or is your soul so dead that you just don't care?"

"Why don't you wear a flag pin?"

good grief.... Good for him. Want access in the Obama Whitehouse? Be a real reporter. Message sent.

That's the sound of someone thinking. Sometimes I wish more people would practice the art of thinking. Or you could just respond to every question and every issue with a prepared sound bite and ungrounded smear against your opponent. That works too.

He is busy, isn't he? He had a town hall in a small town outside of Philly this morning. Did an interview with
"All Things Considered". Is going to some small venue this afternoon in Pittsburgh and then a big rally tonight
in Pittsburgh. That's what the campaign reporter on NPR said. he wasn't whining that he didn't give the media
time. :eyes:

24. Are you done?!?
I saw something on CNN, and I was asking the enlightened people here on DU what they thought about it. I had no ulterior motive. I would love it if he gets the nomination. I just wanted to know what you guys thought about him not talking to the national press! As someone pointed out above, it is probably because he is only doing local press which makes sense as I also pointed out above!

Sorry, I have had a few glasses of wine, but you people can distort things around here with obviously so little effort. It's rather sad. Now excuse me because I need to fill up my wine glass again. And if you care, maybe you need not read too much into every little thing that is posted around here. Sometimes people just ask unbiased questions.

If you care to fully vet my cached myspace page, be my guest:

he has been for the last 5 days? 3 events a day, you would think the press would be able to find one of them. Funny how I've seen many of them on youtube. Maybe CNN should watch Youtube?

They both avoid reporters so they could maximize the percentage of information about them that came straight from their Ministry's of Truth.

21. Um.. he's been kinda BUSY.. and I'm sure they are free to cover his rallies
Is he expected to hold special events for them? They are tag-alongs to HIS campaign.. they take what they can get..

By now there is very little "new" for them to learn..

they just need to do their jobs and interview PEOPLE at the events and get THEIR opinions..

These media types irritate the hell out of me sometimes.. they are always "wondering" about what the "ordinary people" think, and yet they rarely ever actually interview any of them at length..and they are RIGHT THERE WHERE THOSE PEOPLE ARE !!!

How many have been covered by the MSM?? How many more questions about Ayers or Wright does he have to answer before he'll actually get asked a policy question??

Grassroots and the web are going to rule this election. Or corporations will complete the enslavement.

All you have to do is figure out where you are.

You must be one of those with 2,000 people on your ignore list. I rather like to think that I am more open minded that that.

Note to self:

In the future when you have a serious question, just shut the fuck up. I think I will go crawl back under my rock now.

Thanks NormaR! You really showed me what a great exchange of ideas could take place here. I guess I will just sit here and wait for the crumbs that the elders throw down for me. I don't know how the ignore list works because I don't have anyone on mine, but I am sure you are glad that you never have to see any views that are different than your.

"You must be one of those with 2,000 people on your ignore list. I rather like to think that I am more open minded that that."

That's why you like to bring up non-issues. How about focusing on the real issues.
