I didn't watch the debate. But the impression I get from GDP is that it was a Karl Rove smear job?

Was it just 2 asshole moderators or was Karl Rove playing asshole?

4. So that's what Repukes will ask; better now than later
You have to hold Obama responsible for his own performance.

Shooting the questions is silly.

14. I hold those who promote the right wing agenda responsible.
Particuarly for our country's current woes. Its really sad to see that the rightwing agenda has gotten some support on DU.

19. Why spew the same garbage as rush or hannity?
It doesn't make the world a better place and doesn't help anyone but republicans.

2. Two moderators asked Obama about his self-inflicted wounds
He didn't handle it well, so it's ABC's fault. Go figger.

3. Not a single important issue was addressed in the entire, endless first hour.
Instead, they started right off the bat by directing negative remarks and questions to Obama (on issues that had already
been discussed and defused). Their attacks were almost relentless, not even letting him come up for air, while
Hillary was given questions that just gave her a platform to put forth her usual self-congratulatory pap.

It was uneven, uninformative and unfair.
Stomach turning stuff, imo.

5. It was an attempted smear job by the entire Machine.
Fortunately it didn't work because it was so obvious. There's a good chance it might even backfire.

9. I hope so.
Somehow I highly doubt that's there ever been a Republican debate/ambush like it.

7. It was a three on one ambush...
Barack was constantly being attacked by the moderators--and at times Hillary had the most complacent grin on her face--as she was enjoying it immensely.

it's positively Bushesque.

22. I said that I thought Russert was tougher on Hillary than Obama
But it did not seem as lopsided as last night, and it was mostly on issues, not flag pins and 60's radicals.

10. Oh, no -- it was as smooth as a Rove smear job.
It was just a Clinton smear job. It didn't work too well, and it could cost HRC more than it likely will Obama.

17. Two Rabid Correspondents asking questions
straight out of the Karl Rove playbook.

McCain's team was no doubt watching, taking notes
and have most of their work done for them!

:(

but each candidate got their fair share of shitty questions, and I think each handled themselves really well.

But Obama still looked good - he held his own even when the game was rigged against him.
