"Racy Allegations vs. IL Senate Hopeful"

It's almost a given there's no hope for this lecherous loser to win, but I wonder if during the campaign, he'll be given the Clinton treatment or the Shmuckenegger treatment, not only from the right-wing media, but the rank and file wrong wingers? Somehow I doubt it'll be the Clinton treatment...

1. Ryan has no shot anyway
but this just makes it fun. Always fun to see it when self-proclaimed Bible-thumpers engage in kinky sex.

4. well, yeah, but there's a lot more to being married than just looking

like "7 of 9". Maybe her allegations are true, maybe not, it gets pretty weird at divorce time.

5. He didn't deny it happened.
He's a fool and he's finished in this race. He probably should have just released the damn files...months ago. His cover up said... GUILTY! Buh Bye Jack! Glad to see you go!:hi:

3. Well, let's just hope he doesn't drop out.
A more moderate Repub like Rauchenberger, as dull as he is, would really make this thing a race. And don't even dream of Obama going up against Edgar. He has the potential to crush Obama.
I'm pissed at Eric Zorn right now. Just report, stop interferring!

10. Edgar is a scary prospect,
but I don't think he'll run.

He is a real moderate republican, and I think he'd win handily if he got in the race. There's a reason * pressured him last year to enter. Hell, I even voted to reelect him.

Of course this time I will be voting for Obama no matter what.

9. I agree.
Barack is amazingly popular in IL. I don't think any Republican, even Edgar, would be able to take him out. He made a good move on the Ryan files by saying it was a private issue - a good idea to stay away. I think if Ryan stays in the race it'll be a landslide, look for something close to 65-35.

12. This may sound reptillian...but
Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 04:07 PM by Debi
Is what he asked of his wife that horrible? I mean, the whole two consenting adults thing. She said no and as far as we know he didn't force her to do it.

So, have we come to the point that if a married couple are rumored to have had intercourse that one of the couple may not run for public office?

I'm not condoning his actions and hope Obama kicks him in November, but I don't think this equals adultry/pedophilia/abuse....flame away

15. Depends on their relationship
Personally I have no problem with it, but in the world of politics, anything with sex that involves you and gets in the news seems to sink you pretty quickly.

17. speaking as a swing-club member...
I'd have to give solid props to anyone who'd show up with Jeri Ryan...until I found out that he wasn't there to share- He just wanted people to see him enjoying something they couldn't have...selfish pig.

18. Sound quite reptillian to me
If my husband had ever asked me to do that I'd never be able to look at him the same way. It sounds like he put pressure on her and I tend to believe her because it rings true. I certainly don't think that is equals pedophilia, but I think it trumps adultery in some ways. Asking someone to do that when they clearly don't want to is really kind of sick.

20. Did you miss the public part of it?
He wanted to have sex with her in front of other people. She didn't want to, so she was not consenting.
