Poll question: A Bill Clinton Endorsement - helps or hurts candidate?
Edited on Fri Jan-02-04 09:29 PM by nu_duer
A simple poll.
Just curious.
---------
on edit - added two options and felt inclined to say I'd welcome a Bill and/or Hillary endorsement of DK - speaking only for myself, of course.

3. Don't make Al Gore's 2000 blunder. Run from Bill and you run from votes.

4. I don't know
He endorsed a Republican for the mayor's race in San Francisco. Al Gore endorsed this same person...this same person contributed money to Gore's opponent in 2000.

11. I thought Clinton endorsed a Dem in the S.F. mayoral race
and his opponent was a Green. Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't think there was a Repub running.

6. Helps both short and long term.
May hurt some in gen election as a rally cry for neo cons but I think they will be up in arms to vote for Bush no matter what.

7. Although Clinton is popular among Democrats
He's not popular among moderate Republicans and a lot of swing voters. An endorsement by Clinton could stand to really hurt in the general election for that reason. Whoever gets the nomination should enlist his help campaigning, but not expect him to be some kind of savior or boost with swing voters.

9. I don't know if Clinton's unpopular with swing voters
Do you have evidence of that or is it your guess? I'm not saying one way or the other. I'm just curious about where you get your info. :)
