and then re-do her "3 AM" ad, but with the "hand of experience" shaking as it fumbles around for the phone, knocking lamps and shit over.

8. Well, he wasn't cross-eyed with a whiskey-shot poised, was he?
Not there there was any difference as far as pandering to the beer-loyal, but the media is what it is. I could guarantee that a similar shot of Barack or McCain would be everywhere, instantly, and no sexism necessary.

9. Hillary's crime is that she drank Canadian whiskey instead of a good American Bourbon
Kentucky primary is coming up. Obama should point Hillary's disdain for Kentucky's best.

I really have no problem with the fact that she prefers Crown Royal over bourbon made in Kentucky. But if she's going to drink Crown, she really needs to stop calling Obama an elitist.

20. Bigtree, I'm gonna agree with you that there's a double standard here
I think sometimes Hillary supporters over-use the gender card just as Obama supporters over-use the race card. This isn't one of those cases.

Hillary really should not be getting crap for taking a shot of Whiskey. I think intended or not, it does have something to do with the fact that we associate such behavior with men.

That said, it swings both ways. I think there's a double standard in the fact that some DUers want Obama to prove to them that he's not homophobic, anti-white, and anti-semitic when they've never at any point said that they need any proof of these things from white Democrats (some of whom have had ties to equally if not more controversial people than Rev Wright).

30. That's not the point of the OP
The point is that if Obama were running a cheap shot campaign, he'd run an ad saying that Hillary is a drunk who can't control herself.

I, for one, think it's cool to see her drinking beer and taking a shot. Particularly for her since she's had some image troubles about being seen as a human. I give her the benefit of the doubt here more than I would for a man. If that makes me sexist, then I guess I'll wait for her to complain about me giving her cool points. That being said, I bet that shot knocked her for a loop.

33. I think it makes as much sense to get "outraged" over a picture of her doing shots
as it does to get "outraged" over Obama not wearing a flag pin, or Obama wearing a turban, or over Obama's middle name, or over something Obama's preacher said, or over something Obama's wife said, or over Obama saying voters are "bitter".

They're ALL bullshit. ALL of them.

32. No, because I'm not part of the Obama campaign.
And I'm not even criticizing Hillary for doing shots; I could give a shit, as long as she's not driving... I'm only making an observation about the sleazy, intellectually empty nature of her campaign, which started off with the assumption that she could claim the nom. by declaring herself "inevitable", and once it became clear that wasn't working, she proceeded to attempt to tear Obama down by any cheap means her campaign goons could come up with.

Meanwhile, on issues that DO matter- like her vote for the IWR- she has been totally unable or unwilling to acknowledge that she made a mistake. She has never made the sale as to why she DESERVES to be the nominee (other than, as Terry M. puts it "It's HER TURN") and in her all-out brawl for this victory which her supporters are seemingly convinced she's entitled to, she has not hesitated in the LEAST to embrace the worst sort of Right-Wing messaging and Karl Rove tactics.

It didn't need to be this way; a lot of us had respect for her before, but that respect has been severely diminished by her conduct in this campaign.

31. The point isn't that that is some sort of a legitimate approach to campaigning.
The point is, if Obama was taking Hillary's sleazy "kitchen sink" low road, that's the sort of thing we would see.

And I have NO DOUBT that Hillary's people have considered running with the cocaine thing; they floated a "trial balloon" about it already, remember? And have come to the conclusion that it would seriously bite them on the ass. Otherwise, I'm sure they'd have no compunction about using it as an "issue".
