Clinton Camp: We're going to continue talking about Obama's 'bitter' remark

http://blogs.usatoday.com/onpolitics/2008/04/clinton-aide-we.html

"It's something that we intend to continue to discuss because it is important."

That's what Clinton campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson just told NBC's Andrea Mitchell during a conference call with reporters. Mitchell had asked whether Hillary Rodham Clinton's team was going to continue talking about what Barack Obama said regarding small-town voters (that some are "bitter" and cling to guns and religion) even though Clinton's top supporter in Pennsylvania, Gov. Ed Rendell, has said the flap won't have much of an effect on next Tuesday's Keystone State primary.

Swift boating herself...

Hillary folks, seriously, do you not see the negative approach did not work? I'd say it's not too late to try something positive but it IS too late.

6. Even with the recent polls showing it's not working out the way they expected?
However, according to the polls it never works out the way they expect it to when Hillary goes negative on Obama. Yet for some unknown reason they keep on doing it.

This campaign will go down in history as one that would not learn from it's mistakes so it kept repeating them.

9. Of course it's important..
It's important so that people quit talking about Bosnia and so that McCain doesn't have to waste any money making ads.. All he has to do is "cue the tape"..and repeat what Her Royal Highness said..

What gets me is this.. She's running on Bill's presidency, and yet most of the "yukky" part of his administration is "off-limits"..

She's asked when she last went to church or fired a gun, and she refused to answer. (she's MADE religiosity & faith a part of her "heritage")

She's asked about a difficult subject and she unleashes a cacaphony of cackle-icious laughter, and they don't just RE-ask the question.. (she expects Obama to define every last detail of everything he's ever said or done)

SHE'S LOSING...SHE SHOULD NOT BE DEFINING THE RACE..OR THE TERMS OF THE QUESTIONING..

She has pushed her grown-up, 28 yr old woman-baby daughter out there to campaign for her, but still insists that she never be interviewed or be made to answer "icky" questions..and then gets reporters suspended/fired if they dare to say anything SHE doesn't like..

18. I do too. She's lousy at it. And every time she's played the
attack dog, she's hurt herself. I'm hoping she's really nasty tomorrow night and tries some more lame digs. She might even get jeered. How sad for her.

22. That's the name of the game. Make Obama unacceptable especially to the superdelegates
It's a zero sum game.

Make your opponent so reprehensible that people who are not rabid supporters will either not vote (screw all that Democracy bullshit) or will hold their nose and vote for your candidate.

It's what Republicans have been doing for years.

13. And again, the M$M is HRC's personal lap dog. But "The People" don't buy into feigned indignation
when times are, in fact, HARD, and people are, understandably BITTER.

Yes America, we have a candidate who's not afraid to speak to us like adults and NOT sound bytes. As such, we must have A MATURE discussion about what troubles us, NOT "gotcha" smear slogans and shameless pandering with NO delivery.

21. That was sooooooo choice yesterday..
...when she got booed in PA for the "elitist" remarks. And...she did not know what the hell to do. She just stood there with that plastic smile on her face...and tried to go on as if she had been cheered.

She is such a dork...bookbag and all.

23. All they're doing by 'continuing to talk about it'
is giving Obama multiple opportunities to 'revise and extend his remarks' - i.e., continue to clarify the idea until just about everyone (except, of course, the Hillary dead-enders) gets it.

Even further proof that Howard Wolfson (and the 'demoted' Mark Penn) have as much busines running a presidential campaign as I do.

25. Obama should get back to the war and the economy
What it all is costing in blood and treasure. He should BOP his opponents over the head with it two or three times a day and every place he campaigns. He should talk about China trade and about the Financial Services reforms of 1998. Tie it all into the economic crisis.

He's done what has to be done on "Bitter" - let them waste more time on it, but from the debate on, he needs to hit them on issues that matter.

26. Bring it on
Every time Clinton beats voters over the head with this crap, it reminds them about our lousy economy and the death of the manufacturing industry in America.

It also gives Obama a reason to tell voters the truth.

So, go for it, Hillary.
