The circus to come (if someone doesn't step in)
Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 09:16 PM by mmonk
The Clinton strategy of damaging the front runner in order to get to the convention and push super delegates into going for her is a very bad strategy for our party. While she has a right to run, make no mistake this particular way of running and strategy can really hurt us against McCain. Barack is bringing many new voters in the process and registration in the AA community is way up (and crucial to our success). The cost of alienation on a knee cap strategy to swing super delegates is high. Seems I picked an unusual election year to be a part of the delegate process. What's left in the pledged delegate race are just 566 delegates up for grabs and Obama has an 167 pledged delegate lead after having won 30 states to Clinton's 14 (in pledged delegate count). It's all very obvious and the super delegate fight is going to leave strong animosity in the party. Seems having the super delegates created to avoid situations like contentious conventions may instead create one. Too bad I can't enjoy the process in any measure. Too bad given the opportunity ahead after a disastrous bush reign may end up being a sad display and consequence instead. My frustration level is high because I now view democrats as well as republicans as opposition to a better future. What should be easy and having a unified party coming out of the convention will instead be us coming out limping and divided. A strategy of winning ugly can produce a ugly outcome. That's my rant for the evening at DU.

1. Call it the Tonya Harding strategy......
It's unbecoming of a Democractic nominee...she should know better.

A good rant it is.

the Congress not standing up harder to the "unitary" executive after the victory in 06 with impeachment "off the table" all for this sham "Super Tuesday" election that didn't go as planned.

3. That's where it all began ....she and her strategist (I use that
term very lightly) never planned past Super Tuesday for let's say what if we don't win.....This was the biggest blunder of all. And now her campaign is desperate now...

5. So what if she alienates Dem voters through her knee-cap strategy?
The objective here is to elect a neo-con.
