PLEASE take a moment to figure out what YOU will do to stop Bush
nd then make your pledge to defeat Bush in November. Register voters, get out the vote, bumper stickers, fliers, whatever.

For all of these reasons (and for today's Doonesbury)

Go here first: (Bring tissues)

1. Good post!
Voter registration + education = the public participation in the democratic process needed for a landslide victory for our side in November.

2. I wish I had the ability to post that here. It should be on the DUhomepage
along with the list of names from Doonesbury today.

I think a travelling wall like the Vietnam wall with the names and photos should be a staple of our protest and effort to stop Bush in November.

We can stand with it in the parks and squares and town greens of America and along highways and byways.

3. Sometimes I feel that I could
"do more" if I lived in a big city. Having a physical disability in a rural area can limit the amount of campaigning I can do. But when I spend some time on DU, I realize that there are hundreds, even thousands, of people doing this same type of work in the streets of the cities of my imagination. Your post makes me feel confident on the need for individuals in isolated parts of the nation working towards these same goals. Oh, I can't wait for a landslide!

4. Actually it is in the boondocks where folks can especially help
urban areas KNOW Bush is a disaster. But in the suburbs and countryside people are more likley to be quiet and need to see folks RESISTING the lies told.

Whether it is at the corner grocery, gas stration, ;ibrary or town hall. There is much we can all do.

But just SHARING the will to oppose Bush is a great thing.

Moveon has free bumperstickers too for those who sign up.

It's all good.

Bush WILL lose this next election.

5. Here's my commitment:
I contacted my local Democratic headquarters (look in the phone book; every city should have one). I called them and asked if I could volunteer. Naturally, they were happy I called.

My goal is to register 150 voters. We'll be going to the Community College and have a table.

Young people! That's where it's at. They are the ones who can stop this insanity. They're lovable, but they can be lazy. That's why I'm going to focus on them.
