Hillary Hearts the Conservative Media
Just read an entry on ABC Sr. Correspondent Jake Tepper's blog, Political Punch, that has me so steamed I can hardly type. Have reposted the entire blog minus the embedded links to news article sources.

Clinton Camp Praises Fox

March 31, 2008 8:32 PM

On Fox and Friends today, Clinton surrogate and Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell had some high praise for Fox News Channel.

"I think during this entire primary coverage, starting in Iowa and up to the present, Fox has done the fairest job, and remained the most objective of all the cable networks," Rendell said. "You hate both of our candidates -- no, I’m only kidding. But you actually have done a very balanced job of reporting the news, and some of the other stations are just caught up with Senator Obama, who is a great guy, but Senator Obama can do no wrong, and Senator Clinton can do no right."

This pro-Fox rapture comes after several steps the Clinton camp has made to work with conservative media, including:

Breaking bread with Richard Mellon Scaife;

Sending out an anti-Obama piece from the American Spectator;

Sending out a defense of Bill Clinton from the National Review;

Cozying up to Rupert Murdoch; and

Establishing an emissary to reach out to Matt Drudge.

It also comes after a Clinton jihad against MSNBC a few weeks ago, as you may recall.

Though you may also recall the Democratic boycott of a Fox News Channel debate last year.

What do you make of all this?

h/t Andrew/Patrick/Josh

The Conservative Media is as criminally guilty as the Bush Administration for our current political, economic & environmental crises.

To give them any credibility *at all* is a slap in the face to all Democratics, to actively court them is unforgiveable.

4. MSNBC has ceased to be a news channel
and is now unofficially part of the Obama campaign. I can't muster too much umbrage if the Clinton camp has to go to the RW media no get an ounce of fair and balanced treatment.

Most of the MSM is in the tank for Obama, along with the left wing blogs like KOS, Huffington, etc.

Therefore, I have no problem whatsoever for her campaign to try to get across her message via FOX, et al. since they are the only ones who are treating her fairly as of late.

2. "Clinton & Obama shun Fox Debate" -- how soon Clinton forgets...
Do you remember this story?

Here's the beginning:

Clinton, Obama Shun C.B.C.-Fox Debate
By Kate Phillips

Well, Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama have decided not to participate in the Democratic debate that the Congressional Black Caucus institute and Fox News channel had planned for September in Detroit.

5. These people WANT clinton to win the presidency fer chrissakes
Remember the 90's? Remember how much fun the media had trashing the clintons non stop for an entire decade? How much money they made selling advertising?

Well they sure as hell remember it. They haven't done nearly as well tryin to defend the record of the chimp administration.

The media in the US does not give a shit about ideology. They really don't care about the truth. What they do care about is profit and a clinton term is money in the bank to them.

6. Did you bother to read the comment section of the ABC blog?
In post after post, fellow Democrats are saying that they now are watching FOX to get a balanced assessment of OUR primary. Isn't it sad that we have to tune to a conservative channel to get objective reporting on a Democratic candidate?

please don't presume to speak for all of us. In the unlikely event that hillary gets the nomination, DO NOT come in here whining about the attacks from FOX News against her.

8. "Hillary Hearts the Conservative Media"
I take it at face value. There is no other explanation, but beware - Hillary "hearts" whatever might get her the nomination, and only for as long as that possibility exists. Conservatives are well-versed in that practice, though, so I'm sure they're not abused.

18. Why did George Will and Robert Kagan promote Obama in the Washington Post?
Is he a NEOCON?!!!111?

These candidates are both backed by conservative interests. Clinton is roundly humiliated by the press. She better get a fucking emissary over there. THEY RAN HER PICTURE NEXT TO TONYA HARDINGS FOR CHRIST SAKES.

Clinton's with the DLC and Bilderberg. Obama's with the Council on Foreign Relations. Both are with corporate America. And the media is hardly being unkind to Obama so...Get. Over. It.

19. Kucinich went on O'Reilly's show. Does that make him a lover too?
Of course, Mr. K debated issues. I've been out of the loop; has Hillary discussed issues or begged for exposure? Both?

Media is media and there rarely is bad publicity. It's the context.
