Calling out the Clark and Edwards supporters!!!!

Today Dean raised $500k in close to 12 hours (at least I hope he did, he had only $78k to go as of this posting...

It is clear to me that the record breaking fund raising that Kerry is achieving is being driven by all those folks who gave during the primaries, and have followed their candidates call to support Kerry (regardless of those who like to suggest Dean supporters are somehow subverting the process)...

So here we go....I throw down the gauntlet....

Let's see those Clark and Edwards supporters hold a fund raiser...

The importance is that it helps identify who is giving the money and does much to help unify the Party....

So how about it?! Up for a little friendly competition?

1. I am going to wait to see who Kerry picks as his VP.

I'll definitely be giving to Kerry, but I have a feeling I'm going to be feeling a lot more generous and freer with the check book if I'm riding a wave of euphoria.

I feel like waiting is going to mean I give Kerry more.

If I give him money now, and he picks the guy I want, I 'll fell like I've already given.

But I know I'll be more generous if he picks the one I want. So I wait.

I don't think Dean donors appreciate this feeling because they don't have that sense of anticipation.

$2000 a plate dinners or from special interest groups (i.e. Trial Lawyers)

I'm talking about thousands of donors each giving $20-$30 each....

Dean's been rasing cash too, as have all the candidates....I'm talking about their supporters doing what we did during the primary...

6. FWIW, according to zip code analysis,

Edwards supporters were from zip codes with the lowest (or second lowest) average income and they gave a greater percentage of that average income than any of the other candidates's donors.

That probably says more about the geographic distribution of donors than it says about individual donor's wealth.

However, it's still an interesting statistic.

14. I met a lot of them at our District Dem. Convention this weekend

and I can tell you, Edwards supporters come in all shapes & sizes, races, genders, ages, disability/non-disability status, and in all likelihood, income levels.

candidates AND for Kerry.

I know because I have responded to his solicitation, and JI7 has posted info about his heavy travel to speak on behalf of all of the above.

We can't raise $500,000 even for Wes Clark. Clark supporters haven't stayed together in the numbers Dean supporters have and overwhelmingly Clark supporters have become simply Kerry supporters. So, while we do give to Kerry regularly, we don't have the same organization you have.

10. I think you'd be surprised

If Kerry were to put up a Clark fund raiser, you guys would do just as well...

The massive amount of cash Kerry has been raising has been coming from former Clark-Dean-Edwards supporters who shifted after the primary was over....it is a testiment to us all...

I truely believe that this form of fundraising is the key to democratizing our Party and freeing up our Party officials from special interests....

I have no doubt that Dems of all candidates from the primary will be there come Nov....and way before!!
