Hillary: Thanks, But No Thanks - VP
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said Wednesday she has no interest in being Sen. John Kerry's running mate this year. She also said she intends to seek re-election in 2006.

The former first lady, during a wide-ranging radio interview, also said it is time for a woman to be elected president and that she hopes to see it happen in her lifetime.

Pressed on whether she might someday run for president herself, Clinton demurred.

"I'm not thinking about that right now. All I'm thinking about is electing John Kerry," the senator said.

Clinton said while she had met with Kerry advisers about who he might pick as his vice presidential candidate, she declined to share any details about the talks or what advice she had offered.

1. I think Hil' is someone that would alienate a lot of Swing/Moderate voters
There are a lot of things I admire about her and work she is doing as a Senator, and there are also a lot of things that annoy me about her too, as I feel about most Politicians on either side of the aisle. I think if she was a VP, she is an intelligent and able person who would do a good job. This said however, I think that Hillary has become the Repuke symbol for why the Democrats are "bad" and I think that she might not be able to help Kerry, but rather hinder him in his quest to win the swing and moderate voters.

Therefore, I think it would be a big, big mistake to choose her as Kerry's running mate in this close election. Her point however about a Woman President is correct....I hope to see a woman President in my lifetime. I certainly don't mean to turn off or insult the men in this forum (because there are certainly many if not most of you who are admirers of Women and probably have a strong woman in your life) but I sure do think this world right now would be a much better place and be in a better place if women were making some of the decisions. Hope that doesn't sound sexist...then again when I see that there were women like Janis Karpinski in charge of the prison command (or was she?) or that Pvc. Lynndie England could do what she did, or the Military guard that was on tonite's CBS 60 Minutes II, I am shocked that a woman would ever do that, but it shows that regardless of gender, we are all capable of immoral acts...

5. I know - but at what ratio? Would it alienate more or attract more?
Are we willing to risk and gamble that on the future of this country? I for one am not a fanatic for Kerry (I was a supporter of Howard Dean, liked Kucinich's message but thought he didn't have a chance to ever be nominated, was humored by Sharpton for comical relief) but I think that it is perhaps the most important vote of my life that Kerry win the Presidency in November against Bush. Edwards might be an interesting choice because of his "Southern" representation and personality and working class upbringing in contrast to John Kerry's....and perhaps most importantly - his possible ability to attract the women's vote.

See interesting article from AlterNet...

7. Women can be just as bad as men
In pyschological experiments where a person is TOLD that they are given the power to give someone an electronic shock of any strength they feel warranted for some kind of behavior, women have always been the cruelest - inflicting shocks that were near lethal if they were real. So yes, regardless of gender we are all capable of evil acts besides what has been in the news lately.

8. The reason Hillary even has an 'air' of alienation is because of the Lying
Whore American Media. Dirty immoral corrupt American Media Board of Directors who've hired and ordered journalists to conspire against the Clintons and most all Democrats. If you can't figure that truth out what hope does our nation have?
