I hope Kerry's Somewhat BEHIND in September
Edited on Wed May-12-04 11:07 PM by liberalpragmatist
Well... at least locked in a dead heat. Kerry's always at his best when he faces a very tight race or is somewhat behind a month or two before the race. Then he shines and surges. That's the same pattern for the last two decades. The exception to that is his 1972 race for Congress, where he had a huge lead and blew it... it's the exception that proves the rule.

So while I'm thrilled to see these high poll numbers, I'm a little apprehensive. I want to see him win big, but I'm scared that if gets too big a lead too far away from the election, he'll fuck it up.

Hopefully, if he does get a large lead, I'm wrong.

3. Depends, I think.
And I think it depends a lot on how the media covers the fact that they moved the convention close to the anniversary of 9/11 on purpose - so much that they miss the deadline for getting Bush* on the ballot in some states.

6. I've been worrying about the Bizarro October Surprise
Where Kerry is ahead by 5+ points in October but a Terrorist attack occurs and the US electorate does a anti-Spanish move and re-elects Bush because of it. Just think of how the RW punditry will have to spin it then.
