Clinton's Money Problems...NY times picked up on it today.

Clinton’s February F.E.C. Filings
By Michael Luo

Despite a strong month of fund-raising in February in which she brought in $35 million, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton finished the month essentially in the red, once her campaign’s outstanding debts are factored in, as well as her personal loan, according to filings submitted late last night to the Federal Election Commission.
After spending about $31 million in her efforts to keep up with Senator Barack Obama, Mrs. Clinton finished February with more than $33 million in cash on hand, but $21.5 million of that is earmarked exclusively for the general election, leaving her with $11.7 million for the primary.
Mrs. Clinton, however, loaned her campaign $5 million earlier this year and she listed $8.7 million in debts to various vendors, making clear why she has not yet paid herself back from her loan.
By way of comparison, Senator Barack Obama, her Democratic opponent, brought in $55 million in February, a record-setting sum, and spent about $43 million, leaving him with $31.6 million in cash on hand available for the primary and $7.3 million set aside for the general. He also did a much better job paying his bills, listing just $625,000 in outstanding debts.

5. This is from the NYT Caucus blog and dated 3/21. NO mention of her money problems on tube today.
Can you image if it was Barack Obama who had only $3 million cash on hand and Hillary had $31 million cash on hand to spend in the upcoming primaries?

6. This is the reason her campaign has been a sinking ship since MD/VA/DC.
I feel real sorry for the poor deluded people who have been sending her money the last few months. All they are doing is paying Penn, Wolfson and the gang big salaries and making sure Hillary gets her money back. It is sad to see them buying the notion that she still has a chance to win the nomination when anyone with any ground experience in politics can clearly see that her campaign is a lost cause.

8. Mostly true..
But this time the big difference is the manner in which the money has been raised. The sources of the campaign money for both these candidates defines the manner in which the presidency will evolve. HRC has raised the money predominently from the big donors, corporates and lobbyists, while BO has had most of his money coming in on-line from common people like us. That would define which groups these 2 camps would be beholden to.

The writers of those rules for American democracy forgot that trains run in both directions. That sometimes the popular voice makes itself heard, and that the undertapped power in peoples' pocketbooks was just sitting there waiting to be tapped. (Now is the time, while they still have a few coins in their pockets, to express themselves with.) The behemoth corporations and their $$$ can sometimes only buy so much.

9. This is the only reason she hasn't dropped out yet.
Once she drops out the money will stop coming in altogether. As long as she has even the tiniest chance she can still make desperate pleas for money to pay down these debts.
