This is shameful - poll i just heard on NBC Today
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 06:41 AM by Hawaii Hiker
Ok, I'll admit it, when I first saw "The Matrix", I didn't get it...Was it a dream?, why did Morepheus think Neo was the one?, why did the Oracle think he WASN'T the one?, how did Trinity not die after being shot?, many un-answered questions from that movie - amazing movie, but i didn't get it, sorry...

Now, this am on "Today", they flashed a poll that I absolutely didn't get.....But this is no movie, it was a Franklin/Marshall poll that said 37% of Clinton supporters will NOT vote for Obama in a GE & 26% of Obama supporters will NOT vote for Clinton in a GE......This is utterly shameful..

How can Democrats from BOTH sides be so fucking stubborn!:banghead:

We have two fine candiates, & to be so angry, bitter, & plain old fucking stubborn to say that you won't vote for the other candiate over John "W" McCain is simply disgusting......Do you like George Bush, excited about what would be his THIRD term, as McCain offers absolutely NOTHING but a continuation of his policies....Some of you must like Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, & Ailito, cuz THOSE are the kinds of justices we will get under John "W" McCain's presidency.......Are you enjoying $3.50 a gallon gas???...I'm so thrilled to pay $3.50 for gas that I'm going to make like Michael Flately & do a Riverdance.....Psst., if McCain's elected, this war will go on & on & on, & gas will probably hit $5.00/gallon!....

Wake up people, this election is too fucking important to just take your wiffle ball & go home if you can't be captain on the team.....I'll do my part, as an Obama supporter, if HRC ends up being our nominee, I'll donate to & vote for Clinton without question....And y'all need to do the same - please....

1. Those numbers will go down once reality sets in and we have a nominee

with a running mate who is picked in no small part to reassure the holdouts.

Meantime, the shitstorm continues.

2. You're right.
I'm not enthusiastic for either. But I'll vote for either over McCain.

3. Yeah, and the polls once said Hillary had a lock on the nomination, too
Polls tell the story of the people polled, and at that moment.

Let McCain run off at the mouth during the fall campaign season, and
then see if all those self-righteous "I-won't-vote-Democratic-if"
Democrats are still willing to stay on the sidelines.

There is no shame in getting real.

4. Not gonna happen.
Once we settle on one candidate and the debates with McSame start people will forget all about this primary fight and turn out in droves to keep that crazy old man out of the WH.

5. Agree -- Matrix was stupid
And Keanu Reeves has to be one of the worst actors to have made a successful career. Maybe Brendan Frasier too.

8. Because we're assholes.
"Take the blue suppository, Neo!"

I'm voting for the Democrat. At least I'll be able to knock some sense into either of them. (And them, me.)

9. Remember, Obama started this SHIT!! Telling Hillary, his people wouldn't vote for her!
seems so long ago now.

And then there was Michelle - hesitating on whether she would support Hillary.

This is Obama's tar baby.

14. Obama did not start this. Hillary's camp did.
And they continue to fling the mud fast and furious. They are on record, in case you have forgotten, and it seems that you have, in announcing they are conducting a "kitchen sink" strategy. That's what desperate, hateful people do.

17. You are just making shit up. Obama rather testily used this as "talking point" for his campaign.
Such a shit slinger.

And that Michelle - you remember, don't you? Yeah...

10. Most of them are lying
Some aren't.

The calculation they're making is that they other side will crumble if they convince them that they will take their ball and go home rather than play.

11. People are just sore right now
That will change.

That's why, while these polls are interesting snapshots of the moment, they are not predictors of anything.

Sort of like the polls supposedly showing how a candidate is going to do in a particular state in the General Election. They're interesting, but they're also meaningless since the General Election campaign hasn't started yet. People campaign for a reason - otherwise, we'd just hold the election now and be done with it.

12. McCain is our worst nightmare. Anyone who stays home or
votes for him because they have hurt feelings is an idiot. McCain will continue the war, has no solution for healthcare, loves outsourcing (think Airbus and the U.S. contract) and will continue tax cuts for wealthy people which, so far, have been paid for on the Chinese credit card. I, for one, will leave the country if there is a third Bush term, which is essentially what McCain is. At that point, I'm convinced the country will have gone past the tipping point and will never recover from the Republican years.

13. The legitimate concern is that the newly motivated young Obama supporters will not vote in Nov
There is also I believe a fair expectation that tblack turnout will rise with an Obama candidacy & if she seizes the nomination via superdelegates that African Americans will feel betrayed and discriminated against, as if their votes in the primaries do not count

16. I swear on my mother that if we lose this GE
And I hear one person say "Well we would have won if we had (fill in blank) as a candidate" I will become violent. We should have no problem crushing McCain into politician pulp if we can be united after the convention and, most importantly, EVERYONE GETS OUT AND VOTES FOR THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE. John McCain=WWIII, any questions?
