Kerry as a voice that does not comfort you? - If true, can he change that?

The GOP mantra is of Kerry as a condescending (not- likable) elitist, who is pro-tax, weak on defense and on the wrong side in the culture wars. The GOP then use small words/slogans saying Bush is about the BIG ISSUES and is right on the war on terror while Kerry is fundamentally wrong, right doing what is necessary to keep the economy gaining strength and creating jobs as evidenced by new economic statistics, and right as to values while Kerry's fundamentally wrong - all without details.

The GOP sells us on the idea we are correct to be "so vain" because we are special folks (American exceptionalism as embodied by Bush) at the top of the heap who should disregard potshots, use unilateral power, distrust entangling institutions, because they bank on our media's lack of reflection and our short attention span as making it impossible to sell (make credible to a majority) an alternative policy to Iraq, the economy, health care, whatever.

Kerry may enervate one but the solution will not be simple enough to explain so that it can get through a speeded up News cycle that does not allow for reflection or for news to "sink" in beyond a feeling that there was, or was not, some reassurance of right path/things will get better.

Rove will sell Kerry as a voice that does not comfort you.

Will it work - what can Kerry do to change that?

2. take Clarke as VP

Many are talking about the lack of purpose and focus in Kerry's campaign> Although it may make you cringe to hear so many informed, people so disappointed and frustrated with Kerry's campaign, I do think Clarke can help a great deal with it.

3. tell the truth about Bush and himself
the promo ads for kerry are great. many people say even during the primaries kerry's were the best even though he ran fewer ads than many of the other candidates.

and he just needs to tell the truth about how bush has ruined things. find a simple way to tell it.

more important is getting others to see who he(kerry) is really like since most do like him when they get to know the real man and not the lies told about him. he won the first two primary states where it was mostly about meeting people one on one and the more people that met him the more support he got.

4. easy
He can plainly state that he will demilitarize the US presence in Iraq.

He should repudiate PNAC.

He should repudiate the policy of pre-emption.

He should call for the upholding of the Geneva Convention whenever foreign nationals are taken into custody by an occupation force.

He should state that Palestinians should not be deprived of their lands and freedom, and that Israel should show the same respect toward Palestine that it expects from Palestine.

He can state that Hugo Chavez was elected in Venezuela by a clean vote, and that the US, which can't say that about its own president, should respect the operation of the Venezuelan constitution.

He should announce that the War on Drugs has turned into a barbaric War on Pain Patients, and promise to put an end to the prosecution of doctors and patients.

I'd like him to go further on several of these issues, but I know he can't. He can at least not be promising to do the same damn things that have been done before.

5. Pick three main themes
and repeat it every speech. Have all surrogates repeat the theme when interviewed. I remember Clinton did this in 96. Everytime a spokesperson appeared, they somehow got in the three themes. I think Clinton's were education, economy, and ?.

Kerry's could be: Leadership, economic growth, and healthcare.

6. Choose Edwards
Edwards comes across as a Tony Blair (British Prime Minister) hell! you can even mistook him for Blair. During the Dem's election there where key point that he made that went well with folks, so the point here is, if he gets chosen he will multiply Kerry's vote, don't forget now Kerry needs to carry the South and I strongly believe that with Edwards by his side they can do it. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that the media likes him, that I think is what Edwards has going for him, and in politics if the media likes you, you can do no wrong. Thats why this moron feels that they have the next election.

Furthermore, Kerry needs to be convincing, has to show confidence, most importantly SPEAK WITH PASSION, great speakers always speak with passion. Not as in Governor Dean, he was OK, just a little too OTT (over the top) you need balance. Show people that whatever you are talking about you care about it more than they do, touch their emotions, conscience once he achieve that he is almost there. You need to draw attention to yourself, let people stop and think Damn! I can relate to what he is saying, the later is the key.

Now is the convincing time SENATOR.
