Passport-gate Is Another Rove Dirty Trick Against Obama
Until proven otherwise, Passport-gate is another Rove Dirty Trick Against Obama. . Look at the evidence. First the timing stinks. There had already been two passport security breeches against the Senator, but he was not notified of either. However, after the first passport security breech against his likely Republican rival this fall the administration leaps into action, notifying the world....

That there have been three attempts to look at Obama’s passport. Given the history of the previous Bush administration this will be enough to grab a ton of news media attention and get every Democrat focused upon the story. That includes KO. However, the real reason the truth was finally uncovered will only be revealed on day two. This is because McCain, a Republican was spied upon. Had the original story been McCain passport accessed Democrats would have yawned and gone back to their primary battling.

Ok, so Rove has the Democrats’ attention. Now, look at the timing again. Just one week ago, Republican propaganda organ, Fox News aired some inflammatory bits from sermons of the much respected Rev. Wright. If anyone needs proof that he is respected, the fact that he is going to be honored for his lifetime achievement here in Fort Worth by the Brite school of religion, associated with Texas Christian University should tell you a lot. His ministry helps people who have endured oppression deal with the sense of hurt and loss. Loss is just like the grief of dying and one of the emotions you experience is anger. When Rev. Wright encourages his flock to feel their anger it is not with the intention that they will remain angry forever. His goal is that they become healed within----but they will only be able to love themselves and others fully if they finally acknowledge that a terrible wrong was done to them.

Fox News attempted to create the impression that Barack Obama was an angry scary divisive Black man, a myth that the right wing has been working on for a years (see my journal “The Right Wing Media v. Obama”). Obama did a good job of countering their attack with a speech. However, while the Democrats were still waiting to see if this right wing media fueled controversy would die, another right wing propaganda organ The Washington Times broke Passport-gate. The nature of the Moonie owned Times should have been a warning that this story was not what it seemed.

Now that the story has firmly implanted itself in the Democratic Primary, the Washington Times comes in with the real hit piece.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080322/NATION/243762495/1001

The State Department investigation of improper computer access to passport records of three presidential candidates is focusing on one remaining employee — a contract worker with a company headed by an adviser to the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama.

In other words, the Washington Times has flipped the story from "Obama was spied upon" to "Obama spied" in the space of 24 hours. Is this what they called Orwellian ? As I have said at least 20 times now since this primary began, the press is a big fat liar. Hmmm. Somehow that does not seem strong enough. How about The Washington Times is a lying sack of shit ?

As usual, the so called “neutral” mainstream media immediately rushes in to support the right wing in its smear.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/22/passport.files/index.html

The CEO of a company whose employee is accused of improperly looking at the passport files of presidential candidates is a consultant to the Barack Obama campaign, a source said Saturday.
John Brennan, president of the Analysis Corp., advises the Illinois Democrat on foreign policy and intelligence issues, the source said.
Brennan briefed the media on behalf of the campaign this month.
The executive is a former senior CIA official and former interim director of the National Counterterrorism Center.
He contributed $2,300 to the Obama campaign in January.

CNN is such a class act. That must be what the C stands for. Classy News Network. Look at where the Time-Warner (parent company of CNN) gave their money before the 2004 election.

http://mpetrelis.blogspot.com/2004/10/chief-executive-officer-of-time-warner.html

The chief executive officer of the Time Warner media empire, Mr. Richard D. Parsons, in 2003 donated the maximum allowed by law for a primary election, $2,000, to the Bush/Cheney reelection campaign, according to records from the Federal Election Commission.

Parsons is not the only Time Warner executive who gave to Bush and Cheney's primary race last year. At least nine other high-level people from the conglomerate contributed $2,000 to Bush/Cheney last year.

I wonder if they mentioned these donations when they refused to release their Ohio 2004 exit polls. Maybe we should change that to the BNN, Bush News Network.

Back to Passport-gate. To make matters worse, the initial stories stressed that the third worker was not fired, only reprimanded. KO, who had no idea where this was all leading, made a big deal asking questions about why that third worker was not sacked. It is likely that the feds have asked the company not to fire the employee. However, the public is going to think that Brennan is afraid to fire him, because he sent him there to snoop on John McCain---and maybe to see if there is anything incriminating in Obama’s file while he is at it.

Ask yourself why security breaches of Obama’s passport file lead to no action, but a look at McCain’s file prompted a full court press reaction of this magnitude? And why did the Washington Times get involved? A whistle blower who was protesting administration or State Department reluctance to act on dirty tricks against Obama would not go to the right wing press, they would go to the left wing press or maybe the New York Times. A conservative worried about McCain’s privacy might go to the Washington Times, but why did not the original article mention McCain’s name, the candidate that conservatives are interested in? Why only Obama’s? And why not the Washington Post? That is a more respectable conservative paper, and they would have loved the story. Except there is one problem with the Post. They would have definitely mentioned John McCain in the first article. And mentioned Hillary, too. And then there would have been no “Bush spies on Obama” to get the story to spread like wildfire through a flour silo.

Consider this possibility. Someone hired or blackmailed or induced a mole at a company that Brennan heads to look at McCain and Obama’s file. The security world is full of Republicans--- and also people who need jobs or people would like to start their own security companies if only they could be sure that someone would give them a contract The Washington Times was enlisted to write the story as if only Obama was a target. This provoked the intended reaction. Once the Democrats were enthralled with the conspiracy, then the Washington Times let the other shoe drop.

Now the why. As I have written before, Rove’s strategy this year is Brokered Democratic Convention. He has plans for Denver. I suspect that phony agitators will be sent in to start fights, maybe even riots. Some heads will be busted open. The last thing that he wants is for either candidate to tie up this nomination now, months before Denver. He wants Hillary and Barack to bloody each other so that McCain can pick off whichever is left standing----I don’t think Rove cares which it is at this point. When Hillary was ahead, the MSM attacked her. Now that Obama is ahead, he is the target.

Unless Hillary catches up, every dirty trick that comes out of the RNC and the right wing media will be aimed at setting Obama back. This was just one more of those tricks. For a couple of days, the press will speculate that an Obama adviser—-ex-CIA no less--- tried to get info on John McCain. The story will die for lack of evidence. But by then the right wing will have one more dirty trick ready to play.

DUers, please do not use this story in your Obama vs.Hillary Democratic infighting . When you snipe at each other, another one of Karl Rove's operatives gets his devil horns.

Please refrain from posting variations of 1) Hillary/Obama is divisive 2) Hillary/Obama should drop out for the good of the party. I realize that this may limit the comments to zero, but that is ok. I would like to give people who want to discuss the topic----Republican and MSM interference in OUR Democratic Primary---a chance to be heard (or rather read).

1. This Passport Scandal Has Nothing to do with Hillary
She is not guilty, she too was spied upon illegally.

This is the BUSH Administration getting caught abusing the system for political purposes, and it should be investigated to the fullsest extent to find out who exactly is responsible.

2. I noticed that, too--that the WashTimes made an issue of Obama-advising contractor
but not the Bush-supporting contractor. But then again, it IS the WashTimes.

As for Hillary and McCain's breaches, I believe they're fabrications. They were admitted to AFTER came the initial report of Obama's three breaches, and I think their purpose is to dilute the appearance of a partisan conspiracy and make Obama less sympathetic.

5. No, They are not. One employee would have to be bribed or blackmailed.
The employee would be a mole. That does not make Brennan or Obama guilty. Read the tactics that CREEP employed in 1972. Lucianne Goldberg was a paid mole for Nixon. She infiltrated a Democrat's campaign and did dirty tricks. Who knows how many moles went undiscovered?

With the AT&T Rove could use blackmail. That would be easiest. Of he could promise a job or some other payoff. But NSA spying blackmail would be safest, because the mole would not want to talk if there were some info that Rove could use to initiate DOJ criminal charges.

4. The third breach was McCain and Obama both. That was why the WaTimes intial
story is so suspicious. That breach happened just days ago and it is the only one that the State Department decided to investigate---as if they only take security breaches of McCain seriously. And yet the Washington Times reported it initially as an Obama only story. Had it been a bipartisan story Democrats would not have been as interested in it, I believe.

I suspect that the Times knew all along that someone would sneak a peek at the files and that there was never really an attempt to learn anything from those passports. Instead, someone who worked under Brennan was supposed to look and get caught---and the story would go straight to the Washington Times which would bait the hook with an "Obama was spied upon" story to capture Democratic interest and then change it to "Obama spied" to start infighting between the Obama and Hillary camps.

Since KO made the mistake of jumping at the bait that one the supervisors involved had worked in DC from 1981 to 2008---and therefore her career spanned the Clinton administration---and since he aired his suspicion on national TV, the Hillary camp was out for blood. Therefore phase two would find them ready to accuse Obama of spying as pay back for KO accusing Hillary of spying. We all know that MSNBC is shilling for McCain (except for MSNBC) so it would have been easy for Rove to get anyone of a number of people at MSNBC to feed KO the interesting fact about the supervisor.

A quick glance at the boards of DU comfirms that people here are acting just like puppets on KO's strings. And of course some of the people here may not be what they seem.

Intel Adviser Breaks with Obama over FISA, Telecoms

March 07, 2008 12:22 PM

Justin Rood Reports:

In a new interview with National Journal magazine, an intelligence adviser to Barack Obama's presidential campaign broke with his candidate’s position opposing retroactive legal protection for telecommunications companies being sued for cooperating with a dubious U.S. government domestic surveillance program.

"I do believe strongly that should be granted that immunity," former CIA official John Brennan told National Journal reporter Shane Harris in the interview. "They were told to by the appropriate authorities that were operating in a legal context."

10. This part is a red herring. The telecoms have phone calls of the candidates
dating back to at least 2001. They do not need to see passports. And Brennan is a security expert. Of course he will err on the side of spying. That does not mean Obama the president to be will listen to him on that.

This is part of the MSM attempt to paint Brennan as guilty of something in the eyes of Democrats so that Obama will be forced to fire him. Then the MSM can imply that that means that he is also guilty in Passport-gate.

This story is nothing but another MSM attempt to interject itself in the Dem primary and get the two sides feuding over stuff that does not matter.

Security guys from the CIA like to spy. That does not mean that Obama will listen to Brennan on this. And AT&T does not need to see anyone's passport. They have McCain and Obama and Hillary's phonecalls and faxes and emails from at least 2001.

6. Here is a partial list of what CREEP did to Muskie in 1972
Now, keep in mind that Rove is less subtle, less afraid of getting caught than Buchanan, has more technology (AT&T and the domestic spying) and you can guess that his methods are more extreme.

"There are significant synergies for both organizations in this relationship", commented Carl Foster President of TSG and now a Market Vice President of the TSG Division of TAC. "It gives TSG a truly national base from which to grow by leveraging both TAC's workforce consulting and recruiting expertise, in addition to giving TAC enhanced financial services and insurance industry presence from our nearly 25 years of experience representing those sectors."

TSG was founded in Hartford, CT in 1985 by Foster and the company achieved nearly $18 million in 2006 revenue from operations in three locations including Hartford, Boston and Tampa/St. Petersburg. Carl Foster will continue to manage TSG's day-to-day operations, upholding the excellence of client service for which TSG is known and bringing the benefits of TAC's expanded expertise to current and future clients.

DEDHAM, MA, June 12, 2007 - TAC Worldwide, a leading provider of technical staffing and workforce management solutions today announced the acquisition of TalentBridge International which will form the nucleus of TAC's direct-hire division operating in the strategic "core-talent" space. The emphasis on Core-Talent is timely due to the combination of an aging workforce and continued double digit growth projected for critical technical professionals driving a rapid decline in available skilled human capital.

Commented Mark Anderson - TalentBridge Co-Founder, "TAC Worldwide is one of the largest and strongest technical workforce companies globally. Their culture and long history of customer-centric delivery, combined with their progressive view of the client's most pressing technical recruiting requirements in the future, were key elements in TalentBridge's decision to join forces with TAC."

According to Maximus Inc, Chief Human Capital officer Mark Andrekovich, "There is a dramatic change occurring in the labor market as the boomer generation begins to retire and the number of skilled workers and experienced leaders rapidly decline. Like many other companies, one of our greatest challenges is finding, managing, and retaining highly qualified employees. Therefore, I believe that companies need search partners that understand their business needs and have the expertise to deliver.

Six different threads at once! Because if the people hear anything often enough they will start to believe that there is something to the story.

This is how media smears work.

And for whoever called me an Obama supporter, the Obama supporters have me on ignore because they call me a Hillary supporter so you had better get me on ignore, too. I only post to people who do not use the ignore function (like me).

I noticed that Mr. Taylor's threads don't get many replies. I guess the readers here like their short and sweet thread "30 second sound-bite news" just as much as the average American voter. Listen to what he says. Doesn't it strike you as odd that some of the people who worked for Nixon, namely Karl Rove and Pat Buchanan, are still around sliming up the political landscape? And pulling the same stunts that they did in '72? This whole primary season smells like a setup. It's not just Obama and Clinton going at each other. "Dirty Tricks" are in play once again. We've all been setup to hate each other. These clowns are probably giggling and spanking off at the thought of a bitterly divided, brokered Democratic Convention. As far as I can tell, McCamy Taylor is the only one bringing this up.
