I HAVE A BAD FEELING
I have a bad feeling about something. I can't put my finger on it, but I've been feeling this since early evening and it's about our party. Something is happening in the background that is not good at all.

We are in some deep doo. Its written all over this place if you have the eyes to see. There are a lot of people willing to sacrifice all morality to "win". And that spells trouble now just as it always has.

Wherever you are from, you certainly are an interesting addition here. I hope you enjoy your time with us at DU!

38. I have a bad feeling about Democrats
Hillary is proving she will stoop to the lowest levels. I'm afraid that she will damage us beyond repair. This is really a concern for me. After reading about what she said about Richardson and then the earlier memo spouting blatant lies, I feel that she really believes she has nothing to lose. Add to that what Bill Clinton said today and I believe they are prepared to go where no Democrat has gone before.

Then I see some of the outright hostility in the country and even between Democrats, and it is :scared:. I feel like we need to come together now. I just have a knot in my stomach right now. It's probably nerves, however.

Spent some of the evening watching Rev. Wright's sermons - and he is seriously one of the good guys.

Barack is in my state at the moment, and all reports are of huge crowds, sold out venues (or I would be thinking of the drive to Medford), and all excellence in message we expect.

I really don't think she'd resort to that. Seriously, let's not get carried away here. She's tenacious and won't go down without a fight, but that quality is what her supporters (and, privately, many of her detractors, including myself) admire about her.

Let me put it this way: she was a Goldwater girl, not a Nixon girl. Sharp difference.

Hillary probably thought that the bad media coverage this week would end Barack's campaign. Seeing that it hasn't, I believe they have gone into crisis mode. Add the fact that Bill Richardson publicly dissed her campaign and you have a serious problem on your hands with that campaign. They must strike back. Now, I'm trying to figure HOW they will do it. I don't want to see her go there. I'm already saddened by her campaign and I just don't want them to take this any further.

Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 02:02 AM by crankychatter
They've been increasingly hijacking the media since Caspar Weinberger was running PBS in San Francisco, covertly for the CIA.

They don't have to shoot them anymore... when the Bush family writes our textbooks and they control ALL media... they just have to keep up the dog and pony show illusion of a free media and free elections...

But now, with the Internet, we're doing an end run around the PACs for direct access to the White House.

They have effectively DONE IN countless moderate progressives and more radical threats to their dominion, using the media...

From Muskie, to Jerry Brown, to Howard Dean, to Barack Obama... but wait...

OBAMA MIGHT MAKE IT...

Clinton has started her own party within the party... I can dig up some links for you...

She doesn't trust Howard Dean and the rest of us... SO, it's alarmed some real people at the DNC... she's set up an entire NETWORK so she can run in the GENERAL ELECTION AS AN INDEPENDENT if she is unable to lie, cheat, steal, blackmail and BULLY her way to the nomination.

The DLC is coming...

But wait... it gets worse... I have plenty more

We will be at War in Iran by Summer... while the media continues the BLACKOUT from Iraq...

Obama is only a mild progressive... but he scares them to death... he's a loose cannon...

you don't want to know what's coming... actually, neither do I

56. See THIS is what I am fearing
I just feel like there is a lot of crazy shit happening in the background that we have no clue about. Anytime George W. Bush does a TAP DANCE on the front lawn of the White House days in this shit storm we're in right now, I know something is wrong. The media has acted like an ass for the entire week. They didn't even try to HIDE their biases. They went full on. I seriously felt like they were trying to brainwash people. And it seemed like no one in the media put up any kind of fight to it. Add to that the fact that Bush and Company are now openly trying to confuse the public with this Iran/Iraq issue. The more you listen to the news about Iraq, you automatically hear something about Iran. It is now Iran and Iraq. Then we have all of these distractions about one of the most touchy subjects in our country: race.

Then there is Hillary's campaign. It appears to me that either she is intentionally trying to destroy the party and our chances in November or she is working on behalf of McCain.

Could she actually be TRYING to split the party to a point of no return to where she can effectively peel off her base of supporters and carry them over to her new DLC party? Is this what she is trying to do? Is this what she has been doing since February? Creating a point of no return for her supporters so when she breaks off, she can carry them with her to her new party? Is this all a game with her? Will this be the "new majority" of moderates, Reagan Democrats, and socially liberal but war hawkish/corporatist Independents?

:scared:

63. More likely, we'll be the one's to go my friend
I was just saying... they have a contingency plan

The media is in bed with them so they think they don't have to worry much.

The only reason Obama even has MSNBC is because he's going electric, which means he's going nuclear... how do you think he got the endorsement of our governor in Kansas?

MSNBC = NUCLEAR ENERGY

BUT... these fat cats know how to play the game... and to them it's just a card game... they ain't going to tip their hand and they have UNLIMITED RESOURCES AND A THOUSAND CONTINGENCY PLANS

There are real ppl on their payroll right here, reading this THE MINUTE IT GETS TYPED... and I can prove that.

bottom line is, if Obama makes it and the megapharms, energy transnationals (oil), not to mention the Military Industrialist... can't TURN him?... if they can't get his full compliance?

It's gonna be bad

But we're going to war with Iran... haven't you read the most recent analysis regarding Cheney's MidEast tour?

Ritter is right.

brb I'm going to get you the most recent article.

Do you think they'd invest THIS MUCH... and go THIS FAR... to just turn back? Iran's been the target all along... Iraq is just a logistical staging ground.

This is John Negroponte's crowning achievment.
Do you think Muslims really BOMBED A MOSQUE, iN Nasariyah?

43. Why would you have bad feelings on one of Obama's best days?
Richardson's endorsement.

Two huge rallies in Oregon.

60. I feel good about those things
but even I felt a little cynicism about the Richardson endorsement after I began thinking about it and then after the Clinton campaign's faux outrage about it. I wrote an earlier post about it in one of these threads. Anyway, Carville's "judas" comment seemed a little off to me. He can be over the top, but this was practically theater. They are intentionally creating some kind of revolt or something.

I watched one of Obama's rallies today and he didn't look happy. It seems that this week has gotten to him. He needs some rest. Clinton and team are doing their best to fuck with his mind. You heard what Bill Clinton said today, didn't you? I think they are intentionally trying to lure him in to respond to every little thing they say. As soon as Bill Clinton made his comment, all of the networks started running with the "Bill Clinton says Obama UnAmerican" story. Now, of course that is what he was getting at, but the GOAL of him saying that was for Obama's campaign to respond and possibly overreact so that they could point to his campaign and call him a rookie, paranoid, overreacting, etc. That's how mind games work. I hope the Obama team beefs up on Psych 101. I feel like mental warfare is on the way for his campaign and supporters.

Or I could be just overreacting.

45. yes that feeling, well, guess what
we don't know what tomorrow holds
we could lose
we could win

that said, we get behind the person we think holds the best chance for getting elected to do what we want
and then damn the torpedoes

i keep saying that i would rather be our party with our candidates (well, candidate at this point) than their party with their candidate

as for your worry, well, anything can happen in the future and sometimes all you can do is be comfortable that with what you knew, you made the best decision you knew how to.

besides, worry that doesn't lead you to a better decision is not constructive and should not be catered to.

49. I had a bad feeling yesterday
I feel like in the last week the Republicans have begun to smear Barack, and it's like the level and intensity of smears and scariness have somehow gone to a whole new level. Between the Wright thing and the passport thing... we've got trouble coming down the road. Meanwhile, Hillary is still acting like a little queen.

We're going to need all hands on deck from now until November. :scared:

69. Okay
I am serious, but I am trying not to make much about it. I get like this sometimes. But the past week has been striking. It's like the entire MSM dumped on him at the same time. It seemed like a coordinated and collective effort. And as Obama said, it shook him up. His campaign is SMART, but this seems like it came out of left field on them. It was rough there for a moment. Then, all of a sudden, the news coverage eased up...just a tad. Then FOX stages this mini revolt this morning. Let's just say I'm keeping one eye on the MSM right now.

We are dealing with ROVE AND the CLINTON MACHINE. We cannot afford to sleep.

87. Take a deep breath - have confidence in the Senator. He has just
defeated the strongest collection of nominees in the history of the party. It is not a fluke. The transfer of power is always accomplished with some anguish.

64. Have you taken your temperature? Are you experiencing cold sweats?
Have you had any O'Gasms lately? Please consult your primary care physician if you have experienced any of these symptoms ( except for the O'Gasms, and then I would recommend a good psychiatrist ).

68. You know, at first I thought you.....
were just making a point to shake us up...But, after reading some of your other posts, I am somewhat concerned now about how you are really feeling....

Do you really feel a little paranoid? If so, don't take this as hard as the guy who went to ground zero when Bush won re-election in 2004 and killed himself.

No election, no President, no candidate can be bad enough to make someone give up. If you feel you are too involved and emotional over a campaign, you need to give the campaign a rest for awhile. And, if you can't shake your feelings, then seek professional help.

Remember, you are only one person and one person cannot change the world. It takes a MOVEMENT. And, Obama is the beginning of that MOVEMENT. No matter what, an object in motion tends to stay in motion.

Anyway, we've all got your back. So, cheer up. You can't control the world and neither can Hillary nor Barack nor any one single person....anymore than my post can make everyone on here agree with me.

I think you may be taking this more seriously than I am.

I'm just sharing my concerns and opinion on what I see happening in the race right now.

74. OH, no, no, no, no, no....
I just threw in the Bush/Ground Zero thing because some people do take things too seriously. Your first posts seemed light-hearted but then some seemed a little hopeless later on, like you were REALLY worried. That's all. I don't mean to imply anything beyond that but just wanted to remind everyone else that some people DO take the political scene too seriously.

You know yourself. And, you may be right...I tend to take home all the stray puppies myself....

Express away!!!!
