Portland Obama Rally!

Just got back from the Obama rally in Portland. Awesome crowd, and not only did we get to see Obama, but Richardson was there too. When they played 'Yes We Can' before they both came out the whole crowd was pumped up. A friend of mine took pics, but hasn't put them on his comp yet.

1. How big a crowd would you estimate? I thought I heard that there were 11,000 tickets...

or something like that...

6. There were few empty seats. I am not good with numbers, but 10-11,000 seems right.

It took forever to get out of the place afterwards because they funneled us all through one entrance/exit. It was awesome to see such a diverse crowd, and SO many young people. It seemed like all the volunteers walking around were in there twenties, trying to sign people up to campaign and volunteer for him.

Also, Richardson and Obama seemed to have good chemistry. Richardson had a good joke about Obama helping him out during one of the debates when he was caught off-guard by a question he hadn't heard, but before he had to embarrass himself and ask what the question was, Obama whispered 'Katrina' to him to help him out. Both of them are class acts.

2. We got there at 6 am and already there was a massive crowd waiting outside. By the time the doors op

ened at 7:30 the lines snaked almost out of sight. We were lucky we got there when we did.

3. It looked great. They showed almost all of it live on MSNBC. I think they did the

same on CNN and FAUX.

How many people?

8. I was watching the pre-show on CNN.com/Live when Yes We Can came on.

I had to minimize another browser to watch the crowd. What a great response. :D

I'm so envious of all those that have been able to see Obama live. The energy in the room from all the people must be fantastic.
