Novak spread a baseless lie that Hillary had dirt on Obama that she was not planning to use. There was no dirt and Hillary would not have told that old drunken traitor Novak is there was any. But Obama immediately came out denounced Hillary in public based upon Novak's word alone. In Iowa, candidates lose votes if the voters think they are using dirty tricks. Axelrod knew this and this is why he put Obama up to it. The strategy worked and they have kept at it ever since. It does not work so well with the big states where voters are more politically savvy.

Last night, from what I watched, he was talking about this as a violation of the law and privacy. He has been all over the Bush Administration about the Patriot Act and our loss of rights, so yes, I think he's going to spend a big chunk of time on this.
