One more for Obama, This could be the turning point. Is Edwards next?

Richardson's endorsement has been fiercely sought by both Obama and his rival Sen. Hillary Clinton in part because as a Hispanic he is seen as influential within the Latino community, which could be a key voting bloc in the November presidential election.

During the last year, I have shared with you my vision and hopes for this nation as we look to repair the damage of the last seven years. And you have shared your support, your ideas and your encouragement with my campaign. We have been through a lot together and that is why I wanted to tell you that, after careful and thoughtful deliberation, I have made the decision to endorse Barack Obama for President.

1. I'm glad to hear that. I think that, for the good of the party overall,
we need to build some momentum in his direction, and Senator Clinton really needs to put her own desires second to what's good for the country.
I hope many more superdelegates will follow suit, and quick-like.

5. Pelosi mentioned that she sees this thing coming to an end in a couple weeks
Before PA I believe is what was stated.

2. It was Obama's speech - Bet ME Clinton doesn't get Edwards
Richardson saw a candidate willing to do what was right rather than what was expedient and politically savvy.

When Leno asked Edwards, regarding the Obama speech on race... "Will this put an end to it?"

Edwards said "I HOPE SO..." and added "If we focus on the issues and move forward TOGETHER we'll have a Democrat in the White House."

The unspoken side of that coin is if WE DON'T, WE WON'T.

It's hard to say because Edwards is a smart opportunist... but I don't see how he can endorse Clinton, believing what he believes... that this HORSESHIT is endangering the General Election.

6. I think Edwards has three choices
1) Endorse Clinton and hope the momentum swings her way

2) Endorse Obama and help him clinch the nomination

3) Sit out completely until the nomination is settled

So far he's chosen 3, I can't see him picking sides at this point.

3. This tells me something.
Richardson is smart guy. He wouldn't endorse Obama if he thought the pastorgate thing was going to kill him. This is probably what delayed it.

8. Is the VP spot next for the Governor?
This is so great! Bill Richardson is a close friend of the Clinton's.

For him to endorse Obama is a huge blow to Hillary!:applause:

I'm sure Bill and Hill blew their tops over this!

This will help Obama with Latinos also. Governor Richardson must be at the top of Obama's VP list as well.

10. Great news and great responses on this thread. I also think this is very significant and is
probably a little beacon sent out from the superdelegates as to what they are thinking, and the direction they are leaning.

The timing is no coincidence either. I think the DNC and SDs have been drawing down lots of pressure for the vicious public/media attack on Obama and his lack of institutional support. I think they see that they need to stand behind our next President NOW, before its too late and before the part - and nation - collapses.

The story has to change.. some pressure has to be brought to bear. The heavy hitters need to weigh in.

11. I hope so
I know Edwards isn't a Superdelegate but his endorsement would be significant. Wasn't there anything that signaled that Richardson was endorsing Obama? I seem to remember in an interview he had indicated that he wanted to endorse Obama but wouldn't say. I think Edwards is starting to do the same thing.

Now all I need is my senator from Minnesota, Amy Klobuchar, to make an endorsement. She's been uncommitted for a while.
