Tim Curran of Roll Call says Dean is being called in to help raise money for Hoeffel, who only has about $800,000 in the bank.

He calls Dean a "controversial" person, "you have to take the bad with the good" - the good being Dean's ability to raise big bucks.

1. This is a high risk senate race
and they obviously don't want to take any chances. The good is Dean's ability to raise bucks but also to mobilize his supporters in a state where he came in second in the recent primary after being out of the race for nearly three months. Not to mention that Dean's opinion of the war on Iraq is gaining ground rapidly. A new NBC News poll out today says by a 47-42 margin that the cost financially and in terms of casualites was not worth taking Sadam out.
