Kerry leading in Oregon
Bush and Democratic rival John Kerry were running very close in an Oregon poll released Monday.

Kerry had the backing of 48 percent of likely voters and Bush had the backing of 46 percent, with 6 percent undecided. In 2000, Democrat Al Gore beat Bush by half a percentage point. Ralph Nader, then a Green Party candidate, got 5 percent.

The Research 2000 poll of 600 likely voters was taken April 25-29 for the Portland Tribune and television stations KOIN, KDRV and KEZI. The poll had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

1. Even though polls show a tight race
I can't help but feel that President Peabrain will get his pasty white ass kicked here. It's a hunch. Hope it's not just wishful thinking.

2. Not sure if its just wishfull thinking
A lot of people I talk may not excited about Kerry but the character stuff seems to have backfired.

"They said Clinton waffled and he was a good President."

"He fought in 'Nam and they are pissing around about medals?"

"I liked Bush after 9/11 but he just seems crazy now. That Kerry looks like a good guy."

These are not Dem rank and file or Repukes. I am talking about the guy working at Starbucks or the usually "I don't give a rat's ass about politics" folks.

Don't remember it like this in 2000. The indies just did not give a crap then. Remember that well. They did not seem to care only the hardcore seemed to care.

There is a difference.

Kerry in November. The argument that sealed the deal was to think about the future of my yet-to-be-born child if Bush were re-Selected.
