Bush/Kerry tied in Arkansas!
Put General Clark on the ticket and we win!!!!!!

Arkansas: Bush 45% Kerry 45%
Arkansas 2004

Presidential Ballot
Bush 45%
Kerry 45%
Other 4%
Not Sure 6%

May 3, 2004--President George W. Bush and Senator John F. Kerry are tied in Arkansas. The latest Rasmussen Reports survey in that state found both men earning 45% of the vote.

Adding Ralph Nader's name to the poll has absolutely no impact in this key Southern state.

Just 49% of Arkansas voters believe the U.S. is winning the War on Terror. Thirty percent (30%) believe the terrorists are winning.

Forty-nine percent (49%) of Arkansas voters say they trust Bush more than Kerry when it comes to national defense issues, but 42% prefer Kerry. On a national basis, the President has a larger advantage on this issue.

7. Add any credible Southerner, and we'll win it.
Clark, Edwards, Breaux, etc. . AR and LA are both ripe for the picking! :)

2. this is great
Edited on Tue May-04-04 09:36 AM by devrc243
news, especially with the stream of "bash Kerry" ads Bush has been putting out lately. I hope Kerry's ads are streamed as much. His new ones look GREAT!

Also, there are alot of soldiers from Arkansas in Iraq and there have been quite a few killed from Arkansas as well. If the truth of this war is resonated as the fraud of a war that it is, Kerry will do well here.

5. If Bush is fighting for his life in AR...
...against a New England Democrat, he's in very big trouble. Arkansas should be solid red in 2004.

11. The lying little deserter has been flooding
the airwaves with a ridiculous ad that says Kerry voted against all the big ticket weapon systems that are made 'ratch 'er in Arkansaw'.

How stupid does the moron think we are? Does he really believe that we don't know there are no tanks or helicopters made 'ratch er'?

Delta, Kerry will have it in a cakewalk.

13. Kerry is correct to avoid a southern strategy
As Bush is firmly ahead in almost every southern state except Florida and as noted Arkansas. Kerry's stringest suit right now is to select a canidate who can firm up his leads in the midwest, the great lakes area, and that will not be Clark or Edwards. In Alabama, Bush leads Kerry by 19 points, and has leads nearly as large in other southern states. Arkansas would be welcome for Kerry, but it is not going to win the presidency for him, and try as he may Kerry is not cutting into Bush's lead thoughout most of the south. Kerry needs a running mate with the greatest chance of delivering him Ohio, Wisconsin, and shore up his lead in Michigan, which up until this week was in double digits, but with Bush's visit to the state has dropped into single digits. It will have to be Gephardt or Vilsack in order for Kerry to slam Bush with the large electotal vote states, and the states with the highest populations. There are five states which account for 20 percent of the entire popular vote and right now Kerry has them all. He must keep them and only Gephardt or Vilsack can deliver those states and even perhaps steal a few of the midwestern states from Bush. Neither Edwards or Clark can deliver any state outside of their homestate, but Gephardt is a regionally well know figure, as is Vilsack.

14. I agree, but hope he doesn't write
off any region except the Mountain West. So far the strategy to campaign in "red" states is paying off and forcing the rethugs to spend money in places they did not expect. Turning out the vote in the South will also increase Democratic turnout in the VERY important Congressional races there and possibly make a few turn "blue" in November. The importance of Ohio brings up the danger of rightwing controlled "voting" machine companies and the head of diebold's promise to "deliver Ohio for bush".

15. Good News
How many more red neck states can Kerry pick up? I bet he breaks into the south and wins 2 or 3 there.

17. Louisiana could go Kerry
It'd be very difficult. North of the Red River is solidly Baptist and probably unattainable. South of the Red is mostly Catholic and he would have a very hard time with the Lifers.

But, the whole state has been hit hard economically and it will be difficult for * to claim his tax cuts have helped anybody.

When she came out swinging at BUSHCO and his pirates, she surged and DESTROYED the BUSHCO minion against whom she was running.
