Follow the Oil War Money: Clinton is #1 -- more than McCain!
from "Who Took the Most Campaign Money from Big Oil?" published Mar 05, 2008:

Unlikely as it sounds, it's Democrat Hillary Clinton who has taken the most from big oil money of the big three candidates. It's also a fact according to Follow The Oil Money, a website that compiles statistics on who is taking what from who at
http://oilmoney.priceofoil.org/federalRaceGraph.php .

And in Hillary Clinton's case she has taken a whopping $267 thousand dollars from big oil interests to fuel her campaign.

In second place is Republican John McCain with $229 thousand dollars in big oil contributions. Coming in last in big oil money contributions is Democrat Barack Obama. But before crowning Senator Obama a man of the people, Obama was no slouch either, having accepted over $128 thousand dollars from big oil interests.

The actual number of contributing oil corporations in Barack Obama's case were fewer and the contributions themselves were generally smaller.

Hillary takes more big oil money than McCain, more than twice as much as Obama. Any wonder why she's Exxon-Halliburton-Mobil's girl?

1. Move along...
nothing to see or read here.

I still respect that Obama refused to join the DLC.

4. Basically Hillary is the candidate of big business.
More reliably in my view than McCain, who has been known to have qualms about genocide and torture. Not so Hillary.

2. Makes a person wonder
If she will "really" get the troops out of Iraq since the whole thing was about control of the oil in Iraq, and the on to the whole middle east!

6. Oh hell no.
Neocons make their own reality and they won't have any trouble giving cover for Hillary to prudently reconsider.

3. But, no
you see, Hillary, unlike the democratic party congress critters and spineless senators and thousands of politicians before her, will take that money and will not give the companies anything in return! You just wait and see!

7. $5 a gallon by the end of the summer is my prediction.
Let's say $4.99 in NYC and San Francisco.

8. Do we really want to keep seeing gas prices increasing at the...
current pace? I hope Americans really think hard before they make their votes this time around.

9. Obama in the Feb. 26 Cleveland debate: "Exxon-Mobil made $11 billion last quarter.

They are not going to give up those profits easily."

I remember thinking when he said it, that's the first time I've heard a presidential candidate mention obscene oil profits in my life!

10. Clinton today on Iraq: "They've done so little to resolve all of their disputes."
Lazy Iraqis, forcing Uncle Sam to settle their petty religious squabbles and completely destroy their economy in order to secure thirty year oil-contracts for Exxon and BP.

Why don't they just pull themselves up by their bootstraps, anyway?
