Texas State/National Convention

I've been wondering about this and if anyone who is more familiar with the convention process knows that would be very helpful.

Basically I am wondering this... Delegates to the Texas state convention can support any candidate when they sign in. Now, those candidates can also file a statement of candidacy for the national convention.

On the statement of candidacy you state who you will support, and this is who you will support at the national convention.

My question is this - does statement of candidacy bind you to support the candidate stated at the state convention AS WELL as the national convention, or is it ONLY the national convention?

In other words - could a delegate file a statement of candidacy for Edwards, but sign in for say Dean at the state convention? Or would he/she be obligated to sign for Edwards at the state convention?

because its unlikely any other canidate will make the 15 percent no to get atlarge delegates
