Why did they try to circumvent the rules that other states followed and then when they got slapped - others get blamed. Now apparently - according to childish freeper-like threads, it's Obama's fault that Michigan circumvented the rules which cost their voters a valid contest.

The states new what they did was wrong and now some people want everyone to bend over backwards to make something happen in a race that is over by any reasonable count (for those who can count that is).

Congratulations, you all are creating a controversy into the general election that hurts the party and would encourage more rule breaking and more flipping off to other states who do not break the rules.

1. They flipped off the status quo
And it desperately needed flipping off, too.

4. I'm sorry... why does it need "flipping off"
If Florida and Michigan had left their primaries at the original dates scheduled, they would have had enormous impact on the race and plenty of attention from the candidates. Iowa and New Hampshire are not the end all be all of primaries, not in a year with two well funded and popular candidates.

Perhaps, in other years, they would feel like 97 percent of the country... left out... California is THE most important state in the union to Democrats (population, funding, delegates, etc, etc) and New York is a close second. Both waited their turn... why did Florida and Michigan feel like THEY are special.

After this election cycle, if someone proposes a rotating schedule for the primaries, so that others can be "first in the nation"... that's fine. But this year there were rules, and punishment outlined for rule violators, all agreed to in advance by most of the major candidates... the rules should have been followed.

6. Life is about choices and consequences. FL and MI thought they could break the rules with impugnity
They knew what the rules were and chose to break them even though all other states followed the rules. They need to have consequences for their choice to break the rules, otherwise why have any rules at all?

7. The primary was going to be over on Feb 5
and it wasn't supposed to matter whether their delegates got seated
because HRC was going to win 90% of the country in the primary.
